Picnic

When we were driving to gymnastics the other day Jade said "Did you bring the basket?" I asked what basket she was talking about? "You said we would go on a picnic at the park after gymnastics" I laughed because we had talked about the picnic probably 5 days prior. She had seen something about a picnic (with a basket) somewhere and I mentioned that maybe we could do that after gymnastics next week. Anyway, I told her I had forgot but that we would grab some lunch from somewhere and go to the park after gymnastics, like I said we could. She insisted that I told her we would take PB sandwiches and chips. So-being the nice mom I am and feeling like I need to stick to my word-I turned around, ran inside and made 4 sandwiches (she insisted we make one for Dad. She wanted to go to his school since she hadn't seen him since he got home late) a few bags a chips, put them in a grocery sack and ran back out to the car. As soon as I got in she said "Did you get the basket?" Uh....you really wanted the basket? So I grabbed a basket. She was happy.
I am glad she was so insistent because it was a BEAUTIFUL day and we had a great time at the park. We were there for about an hour. She ate her picnic lunch, played on the playground (with a few older girls who thought she was adorable so they followed her around and played with her), got out her bubble machine, and even rode her scooter. She was a happy girl! We stopped by to take Scott his lunch afterwards and both kids were glad to see him! After a morning full of gymnastics and fun at the park, she actually fell asleep during her "rest" time. I wasn't too surprised! I look forward to many more days at the park and I'm sure we'll bring the basket!

Jadyn's "I'm so happy you brought us to the park for a picnic" face!

The older girls that played with Jade wanted to take pictures of her. So here she is ready to go down the big slide!

That was fun!

Clap, clap, clapping her bubbles!

What did Jax do at the park? Ate his first jelly sandwich and then decided that he was still hungry. I caught him-twice-with these things in his mouth! They had just aerated the lawn and I guess he thought they looked appetizing! Silly boy!

Pickles?

Jadyn, Jaxon, Brandee and I all went out to dinner at Iggy's before Scott got home from his trip. While we were there Jax kept eyeing our food. I remembered that Jadyn had her first pickle and Iggy's and loved it, so I decided to tried it out on Jax! He loved it! He ate two spears (well, the soft part of the pickle anyway) and would have kept going! By the time he was done his shirt and the straps on his car seat were soaked in pickle juice! You can tell from his face how he felt when I teased him and took the pickle away! :)

Lovin his pickle!

Completely soaked in pickle juice and really mad that mom took it away (Don't worry, I gave it back!)

Retro picture of Miss Jade lovin her pickle too!

Easter Weekend

We had fun celebrating Easter with my family. My niece was nice enough to sleep over on Friday so that I could get up and do my long run (9 mi) Sat morning. We went over to my sister's for our Easter Egg hunt. Jade had a great time and made out like a bandit! I was so tired from all of our activities during the week, we just went home and hung out at home for most of the afternoon. I decided that I would give Jax and Jade the Easter gifts I got them. The problem was we got Jax a car to push him in and Jade a little scooter. What's the problem? Well, I am not one who knows how to put those things together. I had to call my dad to ask him the purpose of a washer so that I could figure out where it went. I will say that I got the scooter put together enough to ride, but Scott needs to do a little work on it! I don't think I got it put together quite right. Oh well. We enjoyed going on a walk with them later.

Jadyn loves Lyssa. As soon as she saw that Lyssa had her hat on, she had to go and get her a hat too! It was pretty cute!

Jadyn and her bucket of treats

Jade loves these boys! Aren't they cute!?!

Grandpa and Jax during the hunt. My mom got Jax some rubber ducks.
The kid's Easter present from mom and dad! They loved them!

Sunday we were supposed to be at church at 9:00 but when I woke up it was 9:00! Oops! I was happy everyone got some good sleep though! I decided that I would just take the kids and go to my sister's ward at 11:00. It worked out perfectly and Jadyn loved getting to be with Zach in church! We went to my grandma's for dinner and I enjoyed seeing my mom's family! Jade took her Scooter with her and rode around outside and played with all the kids. She had a ball. Jaxon was out of character and was crying a lot. He had actually been crying a lot the past two days. I just thought he was teething or something. He was definitely having a rough day. I took him to the Dr the next day for his 9 month check up and found out he had an ear infection. That would explain his fussiness the 3 days prior! Poor guy! I was glad we were able to get him some medicine and he was back to his happy self the next day!

Cute kids! I love their Easter outfits!

I decided that I was no longer going to do the "Easter Bunny" while Scott is out of town, so the Easter Bunny came a week late. I think it's a great idea! :) Jade thought it was too when she woke up this morning! I just told her that we talked with the Easter Bunny and told him we wanted Daddy to be home when she came. She thought that made perfect sense!

Easter baskets!

It was a great weekend. I am grateful for the Easter holiday. It is a wonderful to be able to take extra time to appreciate the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the sacrifice that He made for all of us!

Zoo!

Going back to things we did while Scott was gone! We went to the Zoo with some of our family. Jade had a great time playing with her cousins, running around, and seeing all of the animals. It was a little gold so I had to keep Jax pretty bundled, but he didn't seem to mind too much. I decided when I left to apply what I had paid to get in toward a membership. It was only an additional $40 and it's good for a year. I'm sure we'll get our money out of it!

Jadyn was so happy to get to ride the train with "Zachy woo-woo"

Jax's first time on the train

Jax didn't think this was so fun!

Jade loves her cousins!

The famous "ape" picture. Don't we all have one like this?

Scary moment

(A small post to break the daily "what we did last week" post)
So Jadyn gave me a small heart attack today. I was sitting on the couch feeding Jaxon and she was climbing on her soft chair. She decided to try to jump from the chair to the couch. She didn't make it and kind of landed with her sternum on the hard part of the couch. She looked over at me with big eyes and I could tell it really hurt. She started crying and came over and stood by me. I asked if she was ok but she couldn't answer me. I thought she was in one of those "I'm crying so hard I haven't breathed yet" moments because she was turning slightly blue. Then she went limp and collapsed on the floor and started this gasping for air type sound and was completely non responsive. I freaked out and was yelling "Jadyn, Jadyn!" She didn't even seem to be breathing at that point. I jumped up and grabbed the phone to call 911. As soon as I turned the phone on she started breathing again. Talk about an awful feeling! She was totally fine afterwards-I guess just got the wind knocked out of her! Whatever it was, it completely freaked me out and I just hope it doesn't happen again!

Going Private again

Yes, I know I did this once and then I went back to public. But.....There was an article today in the Deseret News about blogs that has convinced me to go private again. I know there are some that read my blog that never leave comments. If you want to be added to my list please let me know! I don't mind to add anyone who asks! :) Thanks. I'll change it within the week....

My Fairytale life

I was reading on someone's blog today who lost her 3 year old daughter a year ago. She was blogging about how she and her friends use to play a game and would make up their "Fairytale-dream-lives" mostly consisting of vacations, shopping, rest ect. She then said her "fairytale life" now consists of one sentence. Having her daughter back. That was it. All she needed, to have the most wonderful life possible, was her daughter back. That she never realized she had the dream life until it was impossible to get it back. That having all of her kids healthy and happy is all she ever needed to have her fairytale life. I hit me and I agree. I may not have an abundance of money, the biggest house, the fanciest house, but I have my family. We are happy, health, and together. What a wonderful life that is.

As we celebrate Easter, I am grateful for the Savior who made it possible for us to be with our family forever. I am grateful he died for me so that my family and I can live with him again. I know I am no where near perfect. I have made so many mistakes in my life and I know that because he made the ultimate Sacrifice, I can repent and be forgiven. I am grateful that he knows all things that I go through. He understands every trial and is there for me when I need help getting through them. Having kids has brought a whole new perspective to the atonement. It has brought a greater understanding and appreciation.

9 months old!

We must stop time. My baby is growing up way too fast! He is now 9 months old! Even though he is 9 months old he still seems little to me. I will just ignore the fact that in 3 short months he will be one! I must admit I love that he hasn't learned to crawl yet. He can't wiggle out of my arms or fully know that he can get to what he wants on his own. He loves to be held and I love holding him!
Note: I wrote this about two weeks ago and now I must take it back! In the past 4 days (starting Thurs Mar. 27th) he has full on figured out and mastered his army crawl. He can get everywhere. Needless to say, I have started to hear "Mom! He is getting my stuff! Mom! He is eating my toys!" I've been warning her about this for awhile now. :) She is going to have to learn to pick up her stuff now or Jax will be all over it!

Through all of the craziness of the week that Scott was gone, I am always amazed at how happy and good he has been! He LOVES being out and about and is happy to just watch what is going on around him. It is sooooooo rare for him to ever cry when we are out. It makes things so much easier for me! He is quickly growing out of his infant seat and as heavy as that thing is getting, I am slow at moving him to his bigger seat because he is so great at hanging out in his seat while we are out!

He does seem to have the same allergies to things outside as Jadyn does. Jade's actually seem a little better, but poor Jax's eyes water almost every time we are outside for longer than a few minutes. I am hoping that it's not something that Claritin or Benedryl won't fix!

I took Jax to the Dr today for his 9 month check up. Soooo glad I did. I know I just mentioned how great he is but the past few days have been rough. Lots and lots of crying. I couldn't figure out what the deal was but it was a little tiring. Anyway, I took him in today and sure enough: Ear infection. That explains it. It's always nice when my kids are out of character to have someone tell me there is actually a reason for it and not only that, they give me something to help them feel better. I was glad about that. Anyway, the Dr came in and said "Hi there fuzzball! (Yeah, referring to his hair) Well you are sure just staying to be such a big guy!" He was kidding. Jax is now in the 4% in weight. Seriously! He weighed 17 lbs 3 oz. He was 28 inches tall (33%) and his head is in the 38%. Just a little guy. I love it though. Makes him still feel little to me.

I think he may be close to being done with nursing as well. The past few weeks he gets soooo distracted when I feed him but then gets upset if I quit feeding him. He also doesn't ever seem full. I have been wondering if that could be in part to my training for the 1/2 marathon. Someone mentioned that increasing my working out could be making my milk dry up. I'm not sure if that is the case or not. Tonight I fed him before he went to sleep and he work up about 1.5 hours later and was so hungry. I tried nursing him and he just got more upset. I don't think there was anything there. I got him a bottle and he downed 5 ounces and then went right back to bed. So-We'll see what happens. My goal was to make it to a year, but it's looking like 10 months might be as far as we get.

Needless to say, we love Jaxon to pieces around here. He is such a joy to be around! He is so cute and loving! I can't imagine life without him and just love having him around him. His happiness rubs off on everyone around him! I know he is going to just keep growing so quickly and before I know it he will be one!
I love ya Jaxon!

Elmo Buseum

Jade has been looking forward all week to the "Elmo Buseum"-otherwise known as the Children's Museum. Last week when we were downtown she saw the building that had all of the sesame characters on the window and wanted to go so I told her we would come down again this week. We went back in Jan, but the Sesame Street exhibit wasn't here at the time. I think it is running Feb- May. When we came in Jan I was appalled at the price: $8.50 for adults and children over one. Yes, it is a fun place for kids, but there isn't that much there. And....to make adults pay when it is ONLY for kids, is ridiculous. That said, you can imagine how I felt when the man behind the counter said "It will be $24" WHAT!!!! Yep, due to the sesame street exhibit, they are charging $3.50 more per person. I was SO SO irritated. That is such a rip off!!!!! As seen in the bear post, I feel once I tell my kids we are doing something, I must follow through. So $24 later we were playing in the "buseum". Jade had a great time playing and loved having Tyson and Nichole there to play. I enjoyed it mostly because I hadn't seen my friend Amy for a long time and it was fun to catch up! Cute Kids!

This picture makes me laugh. Jade loves to hold Jax!

Yep, you read that right. It was all about the body and you know kids love this part

Jade was serving me and asking me what I wanted to eat.

After dinner the kids and I walked around for a bit and then down to the water to watch the fountains. It was so nice out and I was so happy getting to spend such a nice night with my two kids. I love them so much.

My favorite saying from jade tonight "Mom, Jax scratched himself on his headfor" (ummm...forhead?) Too cute!

Crafts

Today I had decided that rather than go somewhere fun we would stay home and do crafts. After I got done working Jade and I got to it. We made playdough and then made cute Easter crafts: Bunny car's! They were both easy to do and we had fun making them.
It turned out to be a fantastic day so.....we went on a walk with Rachelle and her kids (noticing a pattern. That's what happens when neighbors husbands are both out of town at the same time) We walked and got some dinner, walked around the neighborhood and then the girls played with sidewalk chalk for awhile.

This is what Jade chose to wear for our walk. Nothing like a helmet just to take a walk! :)

We were all tuckered out from the day. I bathed Jax and got him in bed at 7:00 and Jade was close behind at 7:30. I changed into my workout clothes as she was getting in bed and was going to go up and work out after she was asleep. Well- I layed down by her and the next thing I know it's 7:30 the next morning!!!!!!! I can honestly say it has been YEARS since I have slept for 12 hours. I am sure I was overly tired from the night before, but 12 hours!?!?! I was amazed that Jax slept that long too! I must admit I felt wonderful when I woke up!

A busy, busy day!

I wore Jadyn out today! She got so much excercise today I'm suprised she made it to 8:00 before she fell asleep!

We had gymnastics this morning. She had so much fun and it is so fun to watch her. It cracks me up everytime we go because she is just so dang cute! She is probably the youngest in the class but truly holds her own and loves to show Paul everything she has been practicing!

After Gymnastics we went to Classic Fun Center. Man! This place has been around forever. I spent lots of time there in my younger years. Jadyn has named it "The Shark Place" because in the summer they have a huge Shark Slide outside. We will definitely be getting a pass here this summer. The nice thing is it really isn't too busy during the week days. Jade spent about 45 min on the bounce slides 20 min on games and 45 min in the Jungle. She had a blast! I brought lunch with us so we wouldn't have to eat really gross pizza and it was so much fun. Jax and I enjoyed watching Jade and just before we left I even took Jax down a slide!

Jade rested and Jax napped while I worked for awhile in the afternoon.

Rachelle (whose husband was out of town as well) and I decided that we would take the kids to Artic Circle for dinner. Their playland is smaller and cleaner and much easier to watch kids than the Mcdonalds type playlands. Again, the girls ran and played, the boys watched, and Rachelle and I enjoyed chatting. The service at Artic Circle was FANTASTIC!!! Seriously. Due to that, I felt a little bad when Jaxon had a little too much to eat and decided that the best way to solve his upset stomach was to throw up all the babyfood I had just fed him! I lucked out though because I took him out of his car seat less than 30 seconds before he threw up. I was able to aim him towards the floor and I was just glad that it didn't happen in his carseat. It would not have been pretty. Thankfully the Artic Cirlce folks were even great about cleaning it all up! Besides that it was a great night. Both girls were pink cheeked when we left.

So, with all of that playing today Jade slept great! I on the other hand managed to stay up all night. Sleep came around 4:00 a.m. by the time I worked out, worked, and cleaned up the house. Yes-I know I'm crazy

Another fun filled day!

Whew! What a week!!!

Scott leaves on the baseball trip every year the week before Easter. I decided long ago that if he was on vacation, I was going to 1-Not cook all week long and 2-Do fun things every day. So, I set a side money so that we can enjoy a week of "vacation" as well. I have had so many people say "Don't you hate when Scott is gone so long?" To which I usually reply that he is gone so much during baseball season that it really isn't that different when he is actually out of town. Sad, I know! :) So.....What fun things did we do this week? Lots. I decided that rather than put it all in one post I will spread it out! So the first day:

We decided we would go to dinner with some friends in the Neighborhood so we shopping at Target where Rachelle and I enjoyed doing a little shopping, our little boys enjoyed a nice cart ride and the girls enjoyed running around chasing each other. The best thing was they found these "interesting" looking Easter hats that were lacy and frilly and wore them around the entire store. Lucky for Rachelle and I they were on clearance for $4 so we both bought them. I figured it would make a great dress up hat since I'm not a fan of it for normal wear! I so wish I had my camera because they also decided to wear them into the mall! They wore them with much confidence! :)

We ate at the mall and then let them ride the carousel. Afterwards I told Jadyn we could go down and play in the dino playland for 15 min but when I said it was time to go I didn't want any crying. She agreed. She had a great time playing and when it was time to go I said "Ok Jade, we need to go now" No lie-She ran right over to the stroller and said "Ok mom, let's go home!" Wow... I was shocked! SCott has been telling her for a week if she is good while he is gone he will get her a Dora game and I think she was remembering that! It was great! :)

pre easter

With Scott being gone over Easter we dye eggs the Sunday before he leaves. This year Jade chose a Shrek kit. She and Scott had a great time dying the eggs and both loved eating them as well. I had fun watching and definitely did not partake in the eating. yuck!

We also had a little Easter fun at Scott's dad's house later in the day. Jadyn had a great time hunting for eggs inside the house and ended up with quite the loot and poor little Jax laid in his car seat moaning as he was miserable with a 103 fever! Luckily we gave him some motrin shortly after and he was feeling a little better within an hour!

Disney Princess

I think it was back in November that I heard from someone that the Disney on Ice show was Disney Princess this year. We went last year to Disney on Ice and Jade loved it and still remembers a lot about the show. So- When I heard that the princesses were coming, I knew we had to go! We bought our tickets 2 months ago and we have been excited about it ever since! I have to admit that I wasn't sure who was more excited-Jadyn or Brandee. I told brand I think she got that from her mom! I told Jade she could dress up to go and she chose her Belle costume but decided she didn't want to wear it until about 1/2 way through the show. I have never seen so many girls in princess costumes. I would say that easily 1/2 of the girls there were dressed up. It was so cute!
Anyway-We had such a great time. Jadyn didn't move and was mesmerized by the show. She would get so excited every time she saw another princess come on stage! She would sing to all of the songs she knew. It was so cute! I am so glad that we took her!

I must admit I was looking forward to taking her and had a great time, but what I was looking forward to most was this:

A California Pizza Kitchen Chopped BBQ salad. Oh My Gosh!!!! I love this salad and since they are Downtown we don't go very often. That and they are a little expensive and I don't think the pizza is that fantastic. But.....this salad is delicious! We walked over after the princess thing and we were told it was going to be an hour and a half wait. Ugh....I was willing to wait but then saw a table open in the bar area. I asked if we could sit there and the hostess said sure! So we skipped the wait and went right for the food! What a great way to end the night!

Due to the whole no nap thing Jade fell asleep on the way home. Side note: here is a pic of her new car seat! It is HUGE!!!! I am a huge Britax fan and knew that I wanted another one. They are pricey but I love, love, love them! When I opened the box I just could not believe how big it was, but as soon as I saw how comfy Jade was in the seat I was sold! I never thought it would fit in my car but sure enough! I will say there is no way a third person could fit in my backseat now, but that's ok.
My mom watched cute little Jaxon who was great for most of the time. Unfortunately by the time Scott picked him up he had started running a fever and the whole runny eye thing. It was just like 2 weeks ago. He ran a fever with the cold runny eyes and stuffy nose for two days and then was better. We'll see if new teeth show up soon! :)

Bears and Bunnies and smushed cars....Oh my!!!

I swear-Where does the time go? I can't believe it's been a week already since I last posted. The days and weeks just seems to fly by. It's crazy!
Last Saturday we decided to go and see the bears from Bear World at Sportsmans Warehouse. We had been telling Jadyn we were going to get to go and touch and hold the bears and she was so excited! Little did we know that to get to hold the bears you had to pay $15 for a picture. Yes-we are crazy and actually paid it. We just felt like since we had already told her we were going to get to hold them, we might as well. Of course they wouldn't let me have someone else take a pic with my digital camera of all of us holding the bear, but I did get this one. Cute huh? Yeah-just a rip off. Oh well.

After we left Sportsmans we were going to go eat at the mall and see the Easter Bunny. Due to Jadyn not taking a nap now days-she fell asleep in the car. We were trying to decide if we should go home but JAde heard us and was adamant that we go in. So we pulled in to park, only to have the truck in the parking stall in front of us back in to our car. The guy wanted to call the police so we had to wait for that. By the time we got in the mall it was late. Oh well, we still got to see the darn Easter Bunny. Lame that you can't get a good pic of the Easter bunny now that they too want you to buy the picture but crap- I couldn't spend $30 in one night for 2 pics!

Sad day.......for me!!!!

Why? After struggling for the past 2 months to get Jadyn to fall asleep at a decent hour, I decided to try taking away her nap and see what would happen. I came to this conclusion after 1- A friend suggested she may just not be needing her nap anymore. She would still nap everyday and a long nap at that. Usually 2 or 2.5 hours, which meant she wasn't up until about 4:30. I think she wasn't tired 4 hours later at bedtime. 2- We missed her nap one day due to running too many errands and she fell asleep soooo quickly at 8:00! So I gave it a go and it has worked! For a week now she has been falling asleep much easier and much earlier. Yesterday she woke up at 5:00 when I got up to go running and didn't want to go back to sleep. Because she woke up so early she was wasted by 2:30 and fell asleep in the car and slept for an hour and what happened-She didn't fall asleep until 10:30 last night! So yes, I think it will help the night time issues we were having. That said-she still has "rest" time. She has to go down in our room and watch a show on the little DVD player or read books or what not for about 2 hours. She thinks it's great because she knows it's rest time or nap time!
I must admit I wanted her to nap until she was 10!!! Ok, not 10 but at least until she went in to Kindergarten and that is 2 years away! I could count on 2 hands the number of days she has missed her nap. That's less than 10 times in over 1200 days! I wasn't prepared at all to have the naps stop! I guess it comes with growing up right!
ETA: I wrote this about 1.5 weeks ago but never posted it. We are now about 2 weeks into no naps and it really has worked out wonderfully! She is really good about staying downstairs for her rest time and she never fights bed time! As hard as it was for me to finally give up the naps, I am so glad I did! :)

Like Mother Like Daughter

From a young age we knew two things about Jadyn. She looks like her dad, but her personality is so much more me. It's scary. Poor girl! :) I have found myself-several times in the past few weeks- thinking to myself "Will you PLEASE stop talking?" My parents are laughing at this. It's one of those "I hope you have a child just like you" type of thing. I was asked (told) so many times in my life "PLEASE STOP TALKING" and I would always get sooo offended. I just didn't understand what the problem was and didn't they care what I was talking about? Yeah. Funny how you understand so much more once you have your own kids. The problem is that I can't just ignore her either. I was trying to watch t.v. the other day while she was talking and talking and talking and if she noticed she didn't have my full attention she would turn my head and say "mommy, answer me!" Well, I have yet to ask her out loud, to quit talking. I just can't bring myself to do it. I will say that I have tried to redirect her to an activity that may be in a different room though! :)

I probably shouldn't even admit the next thing but-eh, it was funny. I was driving to church on Sunday and it was crowded because of Stake Conference and Scott said "Just pull up and you go in and I'll park the car" I said "Why don't you just go in and I'll park" (seeing as how I was already driving" He then told me to let him be the man and drop us off! Jade in the back was obviously listening to all of this and said "Yeah, mom's the man." I told her I was not the man, but the woman and she immediately came back with "Yeah, mom's the woman. Dad's the idiot!" Oh my gosh! Scott and I both looked at each other and bust up laughing. We'd never even heard her use that word before. We then told her that was a naughty word and not nice and it hurt her feelings and she broke out in sobs (yes, she is drama!) Then in church I asked her where she learned that word and Scott whispered in her ear to say "I learned if from watching you." (A mockery of a t.v. commercial) and Jadyn promptly said to me "I learned it from watching Dad!" Well, there ya go! She is so protective of me, it's quite funny and flattering! :)

One other story while I am thinking about it. Scott was going to lay by her the other night while she was going to sleep. I left the room and said "Jade, you need to go to sleep. You can't come upstairs" Well, about an hour later I heard nosies by the stairs and this is what I found
Talk about pushing the limits. She didn't come upstairs, she just moved her pillow and blankets as close as she possible could and still be downstairs! She is going to be such a fun teenager!

Jade's 1st Dentist trip

I HATE going to the dentist. HATE it and my teeth are sooooo sensitive. So if you know me, you know that I have the WORST teeth and have my fair share of dentist apts. I have had 2 root canals and crowns since Nov. and have 3 more that need to be done. And Yes- I do brush and floss which is more than I can say for some. I also have a hard time getting numb so I end up with the gas (which is a must, even if I do have to pay $55) and lots and lots of shots every time I go. Cleanings are the worst for me because I don't get any of that and have to just endure the sensitivity of my teeth. Anyway, because of this, I was worried about taking Jade to the Dentist for the first time. I was sure she would not like it AT ALL. She was a little nervous because every time I go she asks if I got shots and I always say yes. So I reaffirmed to her there would be no shots, that the dentist was going to just count her teeth and brush and floss them. She was actually pretty excited about going and talked about it all day. I was going to have Scott take her because I was working, but she woke up crabby and wanted me to take her instead. She was happy by the time we got there and she did sooooo good through the whole thing. It didn't bother her in the slightest and she talked about "Mr Tickle" (the brushing teeth thing that vibrates) for days! She was so proud of her "No cavities" sticker and I was so proud of her for being such a big girl! She loved that they gave her a tooth brush and her own tooth paste and floss and getting to pick a prize out of the treasure chest! I am so glad it was a good experience for her. Maybe she will get lucky and get her dad's teeth!

The crappy part of that dentist trip was when they reminded me that my permanent crown had come in and did I want them to put it one while I was there. I figured we might as well so I didn't have to come back. So I got in the chair and cute Jade was saying things like "Mom, it will be ok, it won't hurt" "Do you want me to hold your hand?" She then stood next to my mouth and would tell me "Hold your mouth open real big mom" It was pretty funny and the girls there thought she was so cute. They even got her out a mask and some gloves, which she loved!

So our first successful-cavity free- dentist trip is over. Let's hope she continues on the no cavity road for a LONG, LONG time!

Halle-freaking-lujah!!!

I know, I've been gone-away from blogging- for a long long time. All for good reason folks! A post awhile back mentioned I was going to spring clean and do one or two things in each room a week. Well, that was back in Jan and I just never could find time (or motivation) to get to it. I managed it with one kid, but since I've had Jax, I just feel like time is something I never have. Anyway, I got tired of seeing "start spring cleaning" on my to do list over and over again. So.....I took control. I took the entire week off from work and honestly spent probably 70 hours since last Monday, spring cleaning. It was rough, and so not fun, but definitely the most productive week off from work I have had. It was pretty ugly. There were days you couldn't even find carpet to walk in while I was dejunking rooms, but I finished today, and I am happy to say the entire house has been cleaned, de-junked, and organized from top to bottom. Scott mentioned we might catch up on our garbage sometime in July. Seriously, I probably had 15 bags of garbage and maybe 10 bags of D.I. stuff that I took out of the house. I got rid of a lot. We just don't have room anymore to keep things we don't use. So-Yes, I did have to step away from the computer, and life in general, Jade watched a LOT of t.v. and got the flu, my fridge broke and I bought another over the phone and had it delivered, all in one week, but it's done and I am happy that I don't have to worry about it again for a year. There is nothing like a very very clean and organized house!
Now that we are done.....where is spring?
