Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication

ThE bOy!

He throws the huge full fledged tantrums when he is mad. As in lay on the ground screaming, type tantrums. And....they come without warnings at time. He also will throw and push anything he can reach when he gets mad. He has also started giving a scowl and crossing him arms when he gets ticked. The only good part is that his tantrums don't last long. He does get time outs at time, but most the time it works best for me just to ignore or distract him. If he does do something warranting a time out, I put him in his crib. He hates being in there when it isn't bed time so he will calm down pretty quick and as soon as I open the door he says "Sorry mom, sorry mom!"
He is still no fun to take to Sacrament meeting. Last Saturday I told someone I seriously dread Sunday's because of it. He just can't sit for longer than 2 min. He is loud and wants to be running around. Makes me feel like I can't control my own kid. Needless to say, we usually spend 90% of the meeting walking the halls. Good thing he loves nursery.
He is very good when we say prayers. He folds his arms and keeps his eyes closed the entire time. If Jade is saying the prayer he will usually repeat 1/2 of what she says. He has even taken to instructing Jade on prayers "Close your eyes JJ"
And still, when all is said and done, he can be the sweetest little thing. He loves to give loves. He will walk up to me randomly through out the day and say "Mama!" and give me a love. He gets so excited to see me after I have been gone. He lets me rock and sing to him at night. I just love him....tantrums and all....he is the cutest little boy ever who with his smile and "sorry mama" can melt my heart!
ThE GiRL! An update.....
(She told me I needed to take her picture yesterday because she loved her boots with her outfit. She thought she looked FANTASTIC and lucky for her....I let her choose her shoes when she goes to daycare. Today she wore hello kitty socks with her flip flop slippers. And her pose? Yeah...that is all her as well. )The past few days she has been very into coloring me pictures, putting LOTS of stickers on them, and having me hang them on the wall by my work computer. I think I need to get some frames or something because the pictures taped to the wall may not be the best idea. I love them, and don't mind at all that it is the first thing most would see when they come to my house.
She is ECSTATIC to be starting preschool. She can not wait. She is very done and ready to be moving on from Daycare and loves that the only day she will be going to daycare now is on "gas station day (Friday's)" That alone makes it worth going to Daycare that day! She is also starting dance at a new place this year. It is going to be VERY different than last year. Much more strict. We'll see how that goes.....She is taking Ballet, Jazz/Hip Hop, and Gymnastics. I know, a lot, and if she doesn't like it, we won't do it next year, but she chose to do 3 classes.
I already worry about her "friend" issues. She wants to be "Best Friends Forever" (her words, not mine) with everyone. That is good, but the problem is that there are already little girls that aren't very nice. I hate...HATE thinking she will have friend issues like I did. Seriously, just makes me want to cry just thinking about it. I REALLY want to install in her that the most important thing is that she needs to be nice to everyone but doesn't have to be friends with everyone-especially the mean girls. I have already seen her get her feelings hurt by some girls and then when they do talk to her she gets overjoyed. It bugs me. I just keep hoping that with her very outgoing personality she can have enough other friends to not have to worry about the ones that aren't always nice. Sigh. She's 4. Why are girls like this?
She is still dramatic. The things she says are HILARIOUS. She thinks she is 16. She loves to call people "darling" and even to bigger kids she will mother them and say things like "Oh come here hunny, I can help you" The other day she called me "My love" and also will say things like "Girl, that shirt is so cute!" She is spunky. And she still gets crazy upset if anyone ever does ANYTHING to me that she finds not appropriate or nice. I love her to pieces and can not imagine life without her. And for the record....she still sleeps in my bed. :) One day she may be embarrassed for sleeping with my for so long-but not now. She gets upset when we read Fancy Nancy books because Fancy Nancy's room is fancier than her's. I keep telling her that if she actually slept in her room, I might actually let her decorate it. (side note: She is actually asleep in her room right now. I made her go in there. She did have the little dvd player on watching a show, but none the less, she is asleep-in her bed. Wow....if she stays there it will be the 2nd time in the past year. I'm not kidding)
When she says her prayers that mainly consist of "Please keep mommy very, very, very safe and please keep daddy very, very, very safe and please keep my mom and dad VERY safe when they drive. Too cute.
And finally- we have had the following coverstations this week:
-One night Scott went home teaching. We were leaving to run errands so I told Scott when we left we would see if he was walking home and we would pick him up. Well, we couldn't find him so Jadyn said "Maybe he fell in love with someone else and left us" I laughed. That was odd
- A few days later in the car "Mom...I love you so much. When you get older, I won't sell you. I will still love you. Daddy will probably think you are too old for our family and will want to sell you but I won't let him"
-The day after that "Mom I don't want you to die. I would be so sad if you died. I wouldn't have a mother. If daddy found another women (ha! she said women) I would be so mad at him. You know like GRandpa Roy did with Belva? Well I don't want dad to do that. (Brandee- I then thought of you) ok? You tell him that"
She is funny...has a mind of her own. I love her to pieces and I will never sell her either! :)
Her latest self portrait!
She insisted on taking a pic of us as well.

Last 1/2 for the Summer!

Don't mind our gross "We just ran a 1/2 marathon" look! :)
Ice Cream Freeze
Jadyn asked me to find a Hannah song the other day "Ice Cream Freeze" I got it off Itunes and then played it. Much to my surprise, she already knew the "dance" that they do on t.v.! I had no idea, but it was pretty freaking cute to watch! The girl LOVES Hannah Montanna. Her new movie just came out and she thought it was "So Awesome!" Just yesterday I head her, very dramatically, singing a song I had never heard. I asked her about it "Oh, it's from Hannah Montanna mom!" Alrighty then. Just 10 min ago I realized why she has been saying "Easy Peasy" all day. Yep....I just heard it on Hannah Montanna!

Girls Night Out
The past 6 months a few friends from High School have started trying to get together again on a monthly basis. With as crazy as life can get, I sure love going to GNO and just sitting and chatting for a few hours! I can't believe I have known these girls for so long! I met Tracy in 4th grade. I will admit that I don't remember meeting her in 4th grade, but she says that the first time we met was when she came up to me and a few others playing 4 square and asked if she could play. What was my answer? "No, this game is locked!"Seriously, I do not remember it at all, but feel way bad about it! Sorry Trace- glad we got to become good friends in 6th grade. We have pretty much been the best of friends for the past 18 years! Wow...that is crazy. I met Melissa in 6th grade as well. Mel and Sharee I met in Middle School and Tara in High School! I seriously love each of them and find it amazing that we can not talk for a long period of time and just pick up right where we left off the next time we see each other!

24th of July

My Dad's side of the family always has a family reunion on the 24th. It's pretty much the only time we ever see his side of the family anymore. The kids had a good time on the tramp and the blow up water slide.
Finally found a fruit the kids will eat: Watermelon!
The Fam
My Dad and uncle BBQ'ing for us!
We went home and everyone napped. I love that. Brand and Lewis had invited us over for a BBQ. Lewis is always cooking really yummy food so I was pretty excited. We had a lot of fun. The kids were good, the food was awesome, and it was nice to just have a relaxing night!
Yeah, had to strap him in to eat his ice cream!
Isn't he cute? Yes, Jade was there too. She was too busy for me to take pics! :)

I am reaching "that" point
Camera ($100)
Cell Phone ($80)
Mirror (yet to be replaced-$60)
Fix the broken car (came to $1800)
Brakes on the car (not included in the about $1800-$120)
Door to the garage ($30)
Heater at the Rental house (again, price is yet to be known. I don't even want to know)
3 Crown-2 for me, 1 for Scott ($600-which we will end up paying $400 more on)
Eye Dr ($200)
ENT (my portion: $260 for a 10 min consult)
And tonight....I put too much food down the disposal. The plug is WAY past the p trap. We tried the snake, no luck-we have to call a plumber. I am guessing another $100-$150 there. Ugh.
As you can see, it has been a VERY expensive month. Money we just don't have. And I was worried about the $200 for the 1st three things that broke. Sorry to vent, but it's just been a long two weeks. Work has been very stressful and life has been very busy. I am grateful we are all healthy and of course things could be worse, but it is still stressful and I worry about all the money.
I will all be ok. We will take things as they come and work slowly at paying them all off. It's just so dang frustrating. And it's 1:00 a.m. and I should really just go to bed........

HaPpY 10 yEaR AnNiVeSaRy!

I can't believe it was 10 years ago that we got married. Time definitely flies. 10 years from now we will have teenagers! That is so scary. It definitely has not been the easiest and smoothest 10 years of our lives. We have had our fair share of arguments and frustrations, but in the end-10 years later, we both still love each other and are grateful we are married to each other! Thursday, August 6, 2009
It was a long week!
Friday: The kids and I went with some friends to the Temple. We had a good time and I was glad that I could take my kids through the temple one more time as the temple open house is now closed. Afterwards we went to dinner. I decided that I would run to Old Navy. My car had been acting weird on the way to dinner- felt like my A/c went out. Well while driving I heard a pop but didn't think much about it-bad idea. Long story short, my car was steaming and overheating as I was pulling in to Old Navy. It stalled, I turned it back on-another bad idea. My dad and Scott had to end up towing it home because when I opened the hood, there was fluid EVERYWHERE!!! It was not good. We towed it to my Brother-n-laws who said the chances that I actually cracked my engine was HUGE. Great
Saturday: The day started off bad because I slept in and didn't get my run in. I hate that. Scott and I were able to go to the temple-that was nice. IT was pretty busy, so we were there for awhile. Later that night was headed out to Alyssa's softball tournament. They were playing two games. They lost the first. The umps were not great, but whatever. Because they lost, they had to play the same team again for the Championship game. It got ugly. The other teams coach was practically running the umpires. They would make a decision, he would argue it, the umpires would change their decisions. IT was just crazy. Well, the last inning got bad.....and I got angry. A lot of people were yelling at the umps-the problem is I was the loudest! Ummmm.....I got kicked out. Yeah....it was definitely not one of my finer moments. It was just bad. The funny part? I had to go home and write my lesson for Sunday. The topic: Holding ourselves unspotted from the world. Yep- sounded like a lesson for me! I was embarrassed, but hopefully learned for the future that it is just not necessary. It will not change the outcome of the day for me to get upset. Hopefully I can remember that the next time I get upset in a game. The good part to the day was how much fun my kids had riding their bikes and playing in the dirt with their cousins at the ame for 4 hours. They were both in heaven-and VERY dirty! :)

Sun: I was up late on Sat and up early on Sunday to prepare me lesson. I do not like teaching. At. All. I don't mind teaching kids, but I do not like teaching adults. The lesson went ok and I was just glad it was over. After church we all took about an hour nap. Jadyn, Jaxon, and I went with my mom and Megan's family down to the Church History Museum. Scott didn't go to church because he didn't feel well so he stayed home from the museum as well. Afterwards we had a picnic in the Brigham Young park. It was a fun change to our usual Sunday Dinners.

Mon: Busy at work. Found out that the ENT dr we took Jade to billed us $360 for the 10 min consultation. My portion (because we have a big deductible) $270
Tues: Let's just say we got off to an awful start. Slept in again. Had to decide what to do with our car. It was crazy. We ended up being 1.5 hours late to meeting Brandee to go to Lagoon. I was crazy onery all morning. Luckily, once we got up to Lagoon, everyone was feeling better. We had such a fun day having Scott with us at Lagoon. The kids loved having him there. He now clearly understands why I come home completely exhausted after a 10 hour day at Lagoon
