JJ!!!

Jaxon and Jadyn can argue with the best of them. They each know how to torment the other. Jaxon tries to take most things from Jade and then yells when she tries to take them back. The two of them fighting can get on my last nerve! But.....they also love each other. The past month Jax has taken to calling for her EVERY TIME he gets in trouble. If we get mad at him for anything he immediately starts crying "JJ, JJ. I want JJ" and then tries to find her. She then gives him a hug, says she feels bad for him but that he needs to listen! It is pretty cute and makes me laugh every time. And I can't help but laugh every time I think about a time we were at Carls Jr and I hear Jaxon yell loudly "JJ you my best friend!" It was pretty cute!

This was one of those times he got in trouble and went straight to JJ!

1st 1/2 of the year!

Saturday I ran my 1st 1/2 marathon of the year. I really had no intention of running this. I was planning on my 1st 1/2 being in May. But.....my friend was running it and convinced me it would be fun and that I should run to (Ok, I admit, it didn't take much to convince me).

So here is a recap of the race.....(for Whitney). Most of you will now want to just close this out....it will be boring!

I registered at 6:00 on Friday night. Slacker, I know. I asked the guy about the hills I heard of. He said there were a few big hills and smaller rolling hills. Hmmm....I decided to drive the last part of the course. It made me nervous. Anyway, the thing I LOVED about this race is that it didn't start until 9:00 and it was only 10 min away. So I slept until 7:30, dropped the kids off to Scott's dad at 8:30 and drove right to the start line. That was soooo awesome! I wasn't able to find Whitney before the race started though, which I was bummed about. (Come to find out she was puking her guts out right before. So no fun for her!) The other great thing about this race was it only started 5 min late! I hate when races start late. It drives me nuts! The weather was PERFECT. I couldn't have asked for better weather. I was worried about rain and wind but we didn't have any of that. The race started out and I felt great. I shed my jacket around mile 3-by that point we had already had rolling hills. I think the first big hill was mile 4. I decided I would run up the whole hill-no walking. It was rough but as soon as I got to the top and on flat surface I felt fine. I was cruising right along. I hit mile 6 at 56 min which was a good pace for me. We had to run about a 1/2 mile on this crappy, muddy, rocky trail. Hated that. Mile 7 was R.O.U.G.H. There was this hill. I could see it at least a 1/2 mile before I even got to it and it was big. The scenery was nothing to write home about so it was no fun at all. But again, I ran a little slower but kept running. I did not want to stop and walk...afraid I would not want to start again. After that hill I was getting tired. I told myself to run to mile 10-no walking until then. At mile 10 if I was tired I would walk a minute. I made it to mile 10 just in time to have this HUGE "S" hill. I knew I didn't want to walk it. I just wanted to get it over with. I ran-slowly- and would look at a tree up ahead and think "30 seconds to get to that" and then I would find another spot "30 seconds to run to that...." Didn't help that 1/2 way up I see a sign that says something like "Welcome to the S Hill or what others call "sH... hill" and some other things like that. But I made it and then I felt pretty awesome....and I kept running. Mile 11, another hill. "Make it to the corner and you can walk" The corner came and went and I was still running. Mile 11 is always the hardest for me. It always feels so long! "Make it to mile 12 and then you can walk". Mile 12 came and I thought I could see where we turned down to the finish. So I thought I could make it. Shock and sadness came when I came to the turn down only to realize it wasn't the turn. I almost stopped to walk for a minute but I decided to just keep on going. I was really tired at that point, but knowing Jade was waiting for me to run with her was motivation to keep going. As soon as I turned the corner and saw Jade I felt much better. Before she started running the end of races with me I would always sprint to the end-a good finish. Now I get to finish with her which we both love! I finished in 2:05:20 and I ran the entire 13.1 miles! This is my 6th 1/2 Marathon and only the 2nd one that I ran the entire thing! I was proud of myself for that because it was definitely the hardest 1/2 I have ever done.
I love having people waiting at the end! Scott's dad, Belva, Beverly, Michael, Brandee, my kids, and Melissa and here kids were cheering me on at the end. It was so fun! Someone asked me if I would ever run it again. I said "No way!". Running is like child birth. 12 hours after the race I changed my mind. That was fun....sure I'll run it again next year!
This sparked the running bug for me. I am looking forward to 3 more 1/2's. I have one in May, June and July! Fun times!

Just a few recent sleep pics

This one cracks me up. He is in to sleeping on the floor. I don't care where he sleeps as long as he sleeps. From all the stuff around him you can tell there was some playing before he actually crashed!

I told them both this night they had to go to bed-no t.v. Neither wanted to be alone in their rooms so they compromised and slept in the same bed. They were both really tired or this would normally NEVER work!
Jax had taken a late nap and therefore stayed up late. I ended up making him a bed on the floor by my computer.
Jade woke up a little later and came to find me. Seeing Jax on the floor she decided to join him.

The best day of her life!

Thursday I did something for the first time: Took a child of mine to Kindergarten Orientation. I can't believe my baby is starting school! While I was sitting there I realized there were 15 kids from my ward that are starting kindergarten! For some reason I didn't realize there were so many kids Jade's age! Jade was so excited to get to go to her new school! They watched a movie, read some books and then did some "stations". She thought it was so awesome!

We were in the car today when Jade said "Mom...the day we went to Kindergarten tation was the best day of my life!" I laughed and thought "I will have to remind her of that in a few years when going to school will definitely not be the best day of her life!" Until then, I am so glad she is excited to go to school! I wouldn't want it any other way!

Jumpin Jacks!

For the past two months we have had a pass to Jumpin Jacks- a bounce house that is really close to us. It has been a life saver for us on Tuesday's. Both kids love to go there, they get to expend a LOT of energy and I sit on the couch and read a magazine and look up every now and then to locate the kids. There is a locked gate so they can't get out-which is awesome! The passes were cheap-only $16 a month for a family. We had a great time using the pass. It expires next week and we are looking forward to now spending time doing lots of fun outside things. Bring on Spring!

Poor Jax!

I am such a slacker this month on my blog! Life is crazy busy! Last week (03/13) Jax woke up from his nap with and kept saying "Ow....my ear!" He isn't a complainer so I knew something was wrong. I took him to the Dr and sure enough....ear infection. He checked both ears and said the tubes have fallen out of both of them and one is really infected. Since amoxicillan usually doesn't work for him (well....didn't use to back before the tubes) we went with Augmentin. I pretty much lived the past week regretting the decision. Let' s just say that the Augmentin caused an A.W.F.U.L diaper rash. AWFUL. That eventually led to a yeast infection as well. It was horrible. I think I bathed him well over 20 times between Thurs. and Fri. It took both Scott and I to hold him down while we put cream on and made him take his nasty taking medicine 2 x's a day. Friday he just resulted to crawling around the house because it hurt so much to walk. But....yesterday was his last day taking the meds and the diaper rash is much better....but not gone. Whew...it was just a long week-especially for Jax! He was such a trooper through it all!
But, through all of that I have found a new appreciation for those who have children who are so sick. Who have to watch their kids suffer such extreme pain. I can't imagine and my heart goes out to the many, many, who have to deal with it ever day!
This week has been better....back to routine. Lots of cleaning to do, lots of laundry to fold and put away and lots of errands to run. I best get to it!

Musical Beds

Last night I made the rounds to check on the kids before I went to sleep. As I checked the doors I saw this:
On the floor and no pillow. All the school books piled up next to him. This is normal about 90% of the time.
I then walked upstairs to check on the kids. First Jax. Check-tighlty asleep in Jades bed. Then to check Jade. Check-snoring and asleep in my room.

What in the world is up with my family? I have given up thinking our sleeping habits may ever resemble the sleeping habits of most families. I laughed about the whole situation and told my self it was fine. It works just fine for us and since I'm the adult and can make the decisions around here, that is all that matters! :)
But...while I was laughing I knew that there are a few of my friends/family who would DIE if this went on in their house! :)

I have taken a few other pictures lately of the other odd sleeping places.
Jax didn't want to take a nap. So he played for a while, yelled to come out, emptied some drawers and then it was quiet. When I went to check on him he was asleep in front of the door!

She wanted to watch a show on the computer in a "blanket chair". She quickly fell asleep like this. No-I didn't leave her there. I moved her to the couch!
This one totally made me laugh. Again, as I was going to bed one night I looked around and realized the whole family was asleep on different couches. How Scott ended up on the smallest couch, I'll never know!

Where have I been?

I just realized it has been 2 weeks since my last post. I don't think I have ever gone that long between posts. So....what have I been up to?

Dealing with a lot less sleep from Him

(this picture is him in timeout. He looks happy huh?)

becuase of this

This started

Which means a whole lot of single parenting

Planning this

Relief Society Birthday Dinner!

for church. As well as doing lots of R.S visits and meetings.

Add in work, running, cleaning, cooking, etc and I have not found the time or energy to blog. All I can say is that I am really looking forward to more of this.

I was again reminded how much I love having the backyard right off the main floor by the kitchen with a nice fenced yard! He spent two hours outside today. This was the first day since Fall that he has been out in the sandbox. I am sooo ready from spring!
