Fathers and Sons

I kept waiting to post this because Scott has more pictures on his Ipad but since I'm not sure I will ever get them I figure I will post them.

The Father and Sons camp out with our ward was in September. It was supposed to be at a place up by Heber but because it had been raining so much they decided to just have a campout at the park in the neighborhood. Well...that just wasn't going to work with Jax because all he really wanted to do was go look for crawdads up at Strawberry. Scott decided that he would just go ahead and still go camping up by the lake and hopefully it wouldn't be too rainy. Jax was soooo excited! They ended up having a great time. It rained a little but it didn't dampen their fishing! Jax ended up coming home with a whole bucket full of crawdads (with a few of them still alive). I am so grateful that camping and fishing is something that they both love to do!

Jadyn decided in October that she wanted to be in the school play. I wasn't sure it was a good idea because she already has dance 2 days a week and adding another day might be too much. But....I left it up to her. She tried out and a few days later they posted the results on the door at school. I had left her home since Hads was asleep and I went and looked. When I came home and told her she didn't make Charlotte but was a city dweller she went down and cried and cried. Ya know...just normal girl drama. City dwellers practiced on Wed and she already had dance but she wanted to make it work so we talked to the directors and decided we would do every other week. Well, shortly after the kids started practice the directors realized they needed more practice and they ended up doing practice almost EVERY DAY in November. It was A LOT of time and although it was a good experience I am not sure she LOVED it.
The play was the first weekend in December and Scott was out of town so it was a pretty crazy weekend. I ended up going to the first performance with Jaxon's school class (thank heavens the Middle school paid for our buses so the kids didn't have to walk) and then Jax and I watched the 2nd school performance. Later that night we went back to the school for a night performance. I took Jax and Hads and Mike, Brandee, Jess and her fam and my dad came. Whew...Jax was tired of seeing it and Hads was not great. Needless to say, as much as I loved the play and they did a great job, we were all ready for the last performance to be over. Sat night my mom, emmalee and Roy and Belva came. My mom took Jax and Hads home and I took Jadyn and Emmalee to Ice Berg because Jadyn had to miss Emma's birthday the night before.

The play really was so cute and the kids were troopers for putting in all of the time that it took!

Miss Hadley turns 2

My baby turned two. Some might say she isn't a baby anymore but I have a feeling I will always call her "my baby". I feel like her birthday was just here but it's already been 6 weeks....because time likes to fly like that! So, I need to make sure I get an update done about Hadley....at 2!

The month of September was big for Hadley. In September Hadley:

- Decided to finally start talking. She went from saying 6 words to saying everything in a matter of a few weeks! I love listening to her talk. She says some of the cutest things:

*Juicey which she will request instead of milk

*Hugas- Instead of Hugs

*Yep/Nope- It's how she answers most questions

*Right here- She likes things a certain way so when she wants something she will point to a spot and say "Right ere"

*Becee. For a long time she called her binkey her becee. 

*By you. She loves Scott or I to lay by here at night so after we lay her down she will usually point to her pillow and say "By you" Meaning she wants us to lay by her. 

- Decided she was done sitting in her booster seat at the table...she would much prefer to just stand on a regular chair. 

- Moved into a full size bed. She has had a full size bed in her room the entire time she has slept in her crib because Jadyn and her use to share a bed. At the beginning of September she started crying when we would put her in her crib at night and would point to the big bed. One night I said "Ok, I will let you lay there but you have to go to sleep" and she did....and every night for the next week we went through this at night and she would sleep in her crib during the day for naps. After a week I finally stopped even trying the crib and we've never looked back! She loved sleeping in the big bed and especially loves when we lay by her. Most nights when we put her to bed she will pat the pillow next to her and say "pillow?" telling us she wants us to lay down with her. 

So all of that happened in September....just before she turned two. She was just proving she isn't a baby anymore! :)

Other things about Miss Hads:

- She loves to color. If she sees a crayon or pen she will say "Color?" and will want me to find paper right away....well hopefully she gets the paper. She has been known to use other surfaces to color as well. I went to get her out of bed last night and saw a pen on her bed. I knew right away I should look around to see what she tagged. I said "Haddie....did you color?" Her reply was "Yep....see?" as she pulled up her pant leg and revealed her covered with ink little leg. Awesome. 

- She loves lotion and soaps. She likes to wash things in the tub and put lotions on her body. 

- She has pretty bad eczema. We are always trying to keep her lathered in aquaphor. Lately even that doesn't seem to be working so we are trying some other things.

- She is still very shy. She doesn't like to talk to anyone she doesn't know. In fact usually she won't even look at new people and if she can't get away from them she will just close her eyes or cover them. She is a true believer in out of sight out of mind. My family still isn't convinced she actually CAN talk because for some reason when we are at my mom or dad's for dinner she won't say a word! :) Jake still makes a valiant effort to win her over, as does my nephew zach. Every once in a while she gives in but usually reverts pretty quickly...Little stink.

- She loves Minnie/Mickey mouse. She also finally started to actually pay attention to shows in September. Minnie and Mickey are definitely her favorite

- "Howie" is her favorite show. "Howie" is The Nightmare Before Christmas with Jack the pumpkin king. She LOVES it and is always asking for "Howie". 

She is the typical two year old....She makes messes faster than I can clean them. It's almost impossible to clean while she is awake because I end up just cleaning up after her-over and over and over again. It's ok though. I know it's the age and that it wont last forever.

Just a few Catch up pictures from the last 4 months

I will never forget this day for 2 reasons. 1- She refused to let me put a new shirt on her this morning. She cried and cried when I tried so I said fine....wear the onesie to daycare and found some pants. 2- When she got home from daycare she wanted some yogurt. I got her some and opened it for her. She decided she only wanted to eat it if she could walk around while holding it. Well, I wasn't ok with that and she went NUTS. Screaming and crying ensued. I decided to record her for good time's sake. Unfortunately that screaming crying video is something she LOVES to watch on the itouch so we have all heard the video a million time. Why she likes to watch herself throwing a fit we will never know!

First piggies....they were so cute! We chopped her hair around Thanksgiving so that it could all grow in the same length and I haven't been able to do piggies since then. I miss them! Hopefully soon!

Girls Bday week! Part 1...of many

We invited our parents and Mike and Brandee over on Sunday the 3rd to celebrate Jadyn and Haddie's birthday. We had soup, salad and breadsticks and cake and icecream for dessert. It was really fun having them over to our house and we appreciate off of them!

Hadley was shocked and surprised when she actually blew a candle out! It was so cute!

Girls bday week part 4

Jadyn's friend birthday party:

Jade was so excited to have her friend birthday party. She had thought about what she wanted to do for a long time and finally decided on swimming and iceberg. She chose Iceberg because she wanted to get shakes! We were going to do swimming and then dinner and ice cream but when we got to the pool and found out the diving board would be closed for a bit, we decided that we would go eat, then swim, then back for ice cream! 

Jade had a bit of a drama minute while we were swimming (I'm bored, no one wants to play with me, yada...yada). I was so not happy with her attitude. She changed it and then was able to have a great time. We were able to invite 8 girls: 3 from school (Ellie, Liv, Ellie Jo), 3 from dance (Brea, Maddie, Hailey) and 2 cousins (Emma and Sahara). These girls are all so cute and just crack me up! I sure do love them all!
