Jax plays baseball...and a Jax update

Jax started T-ball. It has been interesting. Here are some things that we see when we watch him play:
- Crying
- Throwing the mitt
- Sitting on the grass
- Digging for "fossils" in the dirt pile
- Watching a ball roll past him and not even looking at the ball
- Being oblivious to the fact that the ENTIRE rest of the team is chasing the ball
- Using his bat as a sword
- Hitting the ball and running towards third base
- Hitting the ball and running to pick up the ball he just hit
- Being nailed in the back by a ball because Jax's back was facing the batter
- hearing over and over "Are we done?"

And my favorite? Well that would be when Jax got up to bat last game. Scott got him situated and ready to hit.
Coach: Jax! Jax! Right here Jax. Look at the ball Jax. I am going to throw it Jax
Jax: doesn't even acknowledge the coach. He is looking in the air, behind him, at me. Everywhere but at the coach
Coach: Jax! Look bud. Right here.
(He pitches and Jax doesn't even notice. Scott talks to him and re situates him)
Coach: ALright Jax, here we go!
(This time he swings and misses)
Coach: OK Jax, this time bud. Jax! Right here. Watch the ball!
Jax: Turns around and gives me a thumbs up!
(This continues for another pitch and Jax swings and missed)
Coach: Last ball Jax, let's get it! Jax! Jax! Watch the ball bud!
Jax: I can't! I'm watching that Bird!!!!
Parents that are in hearing distance: Laugh, Laugh, Laugh

So....Yeah. It has been interesting. Monday he had team pictures and Scott had to take him. Let's just say Scott called 20 min later and said he had never seen Jax acting the way he was acting. He was freaking out, wanting nothing to do with pictures. Screaming, crying, throwing his hat, running away, kicking anyone who came close. It was B.A.D!!! I thought maybe Scott was over reacting and it wasn't that bad. No...I called a friend of mine who was there and she said it was really bad. Awesome.
So I called my mom and asked what I should do. Jax has seemed to get worse lately....more angry and frustrated. I am not sure what to do. My mom suggested that maybe the best place to start was getting him on a good sleep schedule. Sometimes he sleeps 6 hours and other nights 10. I have really noticed that the hardest times are after about 5:00 and I think it's because he is extremely tired at that point and just can't handle things. He gets so frustrated and angry. So....I am going to try really hard for the next month to get him to bed every night by 8:30 or 9:00. I took the tv and toys out of his room in hopes to make his room a little more calm. I think it is going to be really hard to get there, but I am REALLY hoping that it is going to help because today has been another rough day with him.
Needless to say we have had a rough start to what I hope is years to come of Baseball. I had high hopes before the season started that he would love this. With each game I get a little more worried. ;) But....he is definitely the cutest little baseball player I have ever seen and baseball player or not, I love him to pieces.....even though he did say "I HATE MOM!!!!" today because I put him in time out. My heart may have broken a little. Jade has never said it and neither had Jax before today. :( (He later told me he was sorry and that he loves me....which I know he does. Luckily he tells me several times a day.

I have to add that although we do have some problems with Jax, I love him to pieces. The kid can be the sweetest, most loving little boy when he wants to be. He is so happy to see me every morning....like it's been days since he last saw me. He give me hugs and kisses LOTS every day and randomly tells me he loves me through out the day. So-temper tantrums and all, I am glad he is mine!

Team chat!

Jax is the only one on the field because the rest of the team are chasing the ball!

Jax and his Chocolate Milk!

The kid loves Chocolate milk....without the milk. I can't tell you the number of times I have found him like this:

Some times he tries to hide the fact that he has eaten it. He gets it out, has some bites and puts it back. The problem is it ends up ALL over his face so I know right away what he's been up to!

School Projects

Jade has a monthly take home project a month that we are to do as a family. I sure do love them! ;) Especially because Jade always has a very CLEAR picture of what the end project should look like but has a hard time explaining them to me. We have done a Turkey, Snowman, Kite, Chick in an egg....and maybe a few more. Let's just say I can't WAIT for the years of this stuff (and much more, I'm sure) ahead of me! ;)

I only thought to take pictures of one of her projects! (Don't mind her CRAZY hair!)

They cut her arm off!

The other day I had one of "those" moments with Jax. The moment we all have with kids when they totally embarrass us as parents
Jax and I went down to the clubhouse so that I could workout. As we walked in I noticed another lady running on the treadmill. I knew right away we could have "a moment" and I just went about my business hoping Jaxon would just go play with the toys in the corner. That seemed to work.....for about 15 min, and then what I knew would happen, happened. Jax came over to talk to me and then noticed the lady on the treadmill.

Jax: (in his regular LOUD voice) Mom!!! (he points at the lady) She doesn't have an ARM!!!!! (Laughing at the same time)

Me: (totally embarrassed) I see that Jax! Why don't you go and play Jax?

Jax: But Mom?!?!? She doesn't have an arm.

Me: You are right bud, go play now. (and then I apologize to the lady because she is chuckling to herself by this point)

Jaxon then walks RIGHT over to her treadmill and bends down to look up her sleeve. Yep, I am dying by now

Jax: Mom?!?!? It's not there! They. CUT. IT. OFF!!!!

Lady on the treadmill: I know, I am pretty fascinating huh? (being a good sport)

Me: Please just tell me he isn't the first

Lady: Oh no. He is fine

Jax: Mom!!! (as he is walking back to me) They cut it off!

Me: Alright Jax, go play with the toys now

Jax: K mom!!!!

And then he walks around as if nothing was wrong while I finished my workout quickly and embarrassed. Ahhhh....the joys of having children. And yes, I tried to have another conversation with him in the car about not pointing at people, God makes all of us different......Let's hope that helps for the future!

Fun Days at School!

Jade had a crazy hair day as well as pajama day in the last few weeks! I was REALLY surprised she let me do her hair so crazy. She made sure I took it out before we went anywhere else after school.
She loved getting to wear her pj's to school. She, of course, had to pack all types of things for pajama day: Pillow, blanket, stuffed animal, socks, arm warmers, books......it was pretty funny!

Baptism

We have been able to go to two baptisms in the last few months. My friend Melissa's daughter was baptized. It was so fun to go see Jaycee. She was so cute and had a huge smiled posted on her face the whole time. I forgot my camera so I only have pics on my cell phone. (A side note on this baptism....Jaxon was SOOOO good the entire time. He sat next to me quietly for over 45 min! I was sp impressed!)
A month later we were able to go see Zach get baptized. He too was so excited to be baptized. It was nice to be there with all of my family and I am so greatful for both of these kids setting such a good example for my kids...especially Jadyn since she is only a year and a half away from being baptized herself. (A side note on this one: Jade got up and got dressed all by herself and also did her hair. She was soooo proud of herself! She had LOTS of clips in it and a ponytail. It was cute to see how happy she was about it! And Jax....he was the opposite on this one from the first. It was a REALLY rough day for him.)

I love this picture! My kids love these boys so much!

Classic

We had big plans for the last day Scott was gone. Plans to go to Hollywood Connection to skate, golf and play! Unfortunately the plans didn't go our way! Seth had slept over the night before so he was with us as well as Brandee. We pulled up to a VERY empty parking lot and realized that they didn't open until 4:00. Crap! So the kids decided we should go to Classic instead! I was up for whatever. They had fun playing and Brand and I had fun chatting. My favorite thing of the day may have been the outfit Jade chose out for the day.....just sayin'.

LOVE the outfit!

And baby makes 5......

5 in our family that is! Yes, by now, most people know that I am pregnant with Baby #3. It took us about a year and we are all very excited. Because this is our family Journal, I figure I need to record things that have happened so far. (feel free to not read....could be boring)

We had been really trying to have a baby since July. I went to the Dr in Sept and she checked my ovulation levels.....only .3. A good ovulation is greater than 15 and I was not even a 1! Awesome. So I started clomid. 2 pills the first month...3 pills month 2 and 3 and my levels never got about an 11. It was frustrating. Luckily, I have a good friend who is a Reproductive Nurse in a fertility clinic and she wrote me out a plan of what I needed to do as well as told me to try switching my medications to something called Femara. It is not actually on the market for ovulation, but for breast cancer patients, but it helps with ovulation. I wasn't sure what to do but decided I was going to try it. I called my dr and asked for the prescription. The good thing was the side effects (mood swings and hot flashes) were non existent-unlike clomid. I called my dr office on day 22 to get a script to go get my blood drawn to check my levels. She was not very nice about it. Said I was supposed to do it the day before and it wouldn't be worth it to check today. I was frustrated because I had gone a day late before and she was totally fine with it. I just felt like she was upset I didn't go get a test done earlier in the month that she wanted me to do, but I didn't do because my friend had told me that test is very old and not used anymore. So....I called Tammy (the nurse) and told her what was going on. She was so great and worked it out so that we could go up to her office and get the blood drawn. At her office it cost me $30-the hospital was charging me $150 every month. Also, her office called me back in 3 hours. The hospital took 3 days! Needless to say, when the office called and told me my levels were at 34(!!!) I was VERY excited. Even if I wasn't pregnant that month at least the medication was working! But.....on March 2nd Jade and I had dentist apt and when we were done we ran to Walmart. While I was there I grabbed some tests. I came home and took the test. I was SHOCKED to see the word "pregnant" pop up. I have taken prob 40 tests the past year and always saw "not pregnant". I was so happy! There is nothing like seeing "pregnant" on a test! I wanted to tell Jade right then but knew I needed to wait. Later that night when scott got home we were all 4 watching tv in our room and I casually said "So....I took a test today." Scott said "And.....???" "And it was positive!" Scott was excited as well. Trying to get pregnant is draining at times and we were both happy we had reached the goal.

Due to my first pregnancy-and miscarrying at 14 weeks-I am always paranoid about having it happen again. Jadyn has been WAITING for soooo long for me to get pregnant. She knew (in a 6 year old way) that we also wanted a baby and that we were working on it. She talked about it almost every day. So-I knew that I needed to wait to tell her until I was about 12 weeks to make sure that things were ok. It was SO hard not telling her.

I went to the Dr on Apr 18th. Scott was not able to go since he was on the baseball trip. I did switch Dr's this time. I loved my Dr I had with Jax, but it is pretty far from my house and now that we have a good hospital 5 min away, I figured if I could find a good Dr I would switch. I asked two different people I knew who worked in Labor and delivery at the new hospital if there was a dr they could recommend. They both recommended two dr and the one dr they both mentioned was Dr. England. I called his office and was able to get in. I really liked him and think it was a good switch. Everything looked good and the apt. They weighed me, took blood and then I got a ultrasound. I had been able to pick up a heartbeat around 9 wks 1 day on my doppler (always such an awesome thing the first time I hear that), but seeing the baby on the ultrasound was so cool! He said my due date is 11-10-11 and the ultrasound shows 11-7-11. So....we shall see. I would love to have the baby on 11-11-11. Not just because that would be an awesome day, but also because if I have the baby that day or later I won't have to go back to work until after Christmas-which would be nice. The dr gave me the go ahead to continue running as long as I feel ok and don't get overheated. That was cool because I pretty much stopped running with the other two. I have been able to still run about 10-12 miles a week. So not a ton, but good enough.

So.....When Scott got home from his baseball trip on Apr 25th, we decided it was time to tell the kids. Scott had picked up stuff for the kids as well as an outfit for the baby. So when they were done looking at the things he brought them he handed me the outfit. I asked Jade why dad would bring home a baby outfit? She got a funny look on her face "I don't know?" I asked her what it might mean. She got a HUGE smile on her face and said "You are having a baby?!?!?!?" And then she freaked out, screamed, jumped up and down. She was OVER JOYED!!!!! It was pretty cute. We told Jax and of course he just acted like "Whatever....that's cool" and kept on running around with his new capes from dad. We decided to go tell my parents real quick. We put JAx's "BIG brother" shirt that I bought him a year ago for this occasion and headed to my dad's and then my mom's. Both of my parents were very excited for us. The next day I sent out a picture from my ultrasound to LOTS of people to let them know as well.

So there ya have it......Pregnant again! I'll answer a few questions I seem to get a lot:

- How have I been feeling?

For the first 8 weeks I felt totally fine. Around 8 weeks I started feeling....um....well, not necessarily nauseated, but I have an aversion to food. Nothing sounds good to eat and I don't ever feel hungry-almost like the thought of food makes me sick. But....I am not actually nauseous, so I really can't complain. In fact I keep telling people that I should feel like this all the time because I have definitely been eating a lot less. And here is the shocker for those that know me well.....Even candy doesn't sound good! And that....is amazing for me. In fact, I still have all my easter candy (not opened) upstairs next to my bed. Shocking! :) I also don't drink as much pop as I was before, just because it doesn't sound as good as it used to. I am not sure I have stopped getting it as much, but more that I get one and don't drink much. I do throw up every once in awhile, but it is not because I am overly nauseous, just eat something that very quickly does not agree with me. I feel fine right after I throw up too! I would have to say that if I have had any cravings it is for things like slushies, or things that are cold and icy. I think I may eat my fair share of shaved ice this summer. I saw one open yesterday and haven't thought much of anything else since then! :) I think I will definitely go get me one this summer. I do keep thinking how they are chuck full of sugar, but I may just ignore that fact! I started WW the week before I got pregnant and was actually able to loose 15 lbs before I hit 12 weeks, so I am happy that I at least am starting lower than I was 3 months ago. I am still 15 lbs heavier than I was when I started with Jade and Jax, but that's alright. I will just work on that when I am done....right? :) I weighed this morning and I have gained about a pound so far (I will be 14 weeks on Sunday) so I will take that. I am hoping to not gain more than 25 lbs this time. I gained 30 with the other two.

- Do we want a boy or a girl?

Well.....Jadyn wants a girl mostly but will take a brother too. Jax wants a brother. Scott says he doesn't care. Me? Hmmm....I will say this: I will take either of course. My one request is this- If it is a boy, I will ask Heavenly Father to maybe send me one that is a LITTLE bit calmer than my cute little Jax. I love the kid dearly, but I think one of him is all I can handle! :) A girl would be nice because Jade was also born in Nov and I still have all her clothes. Jax was a summer baby so for the first few years we would need all new stuff. Also, we have a girl name but not a boy name. I tell people I think it will be a boy. I probably didn't learn all I was supposed to, or have enough patience with Jax and prob need to keep trying! :) So I am leaning towards saying it is a boy, but we will just have to wait and see.

- Any other symptoms?

I think the BIGGEST symptoms to this point is just how T.I.R.E.D I have been! It has been crazy from almost day one. I am so tired. It is all I can do to make it to 8:00 at night. I am usually a night owl and although there are times I do still stay up late (though not NEARLY as much), it is never sitting at my computer or cleaning. That pretty much explains my lack of blogging. As soon as the kids are in bed at night (and sometimes before that....they just follow me to mine) I hit my bed! If I stay up late it is just watching t.v. in bed. The other things I have noticed is I wake up a lot more a night, have odd dreams (Like I am in highschool and they are doing layoffs and since I take Jadyn-my sister-to school every day for my mom I miss 1st period so I will prob get laid off), and when I do wake up in the night my hips and legs feel like they are cramping.

That said, I really do feel pretty great. Nothing major yet and I am going to try to just really enjoy this pregnancy. I have never minded being pregnant, but considering we are on our 3rd and final baby I want to enjoy (as much as possible) everything that comes along. Thanks to everyone for all of your love and support already!
