St. George Girls Trip!

When my mom, sister, and I went to see Wicked in April (which was soooooo good. Could see it over and over) we were looking through the program and saw and advertisement for Tuachan. We have been down a few times with our family and really like it. When I saw that they were doing Annie this year I mentioned that we should take a girls trip and go down and see it. Well, after some planning, we did just that. The day after the 4th of July the girls in our family (minus Lyssa who was at a cabin) headed down to St George for 3 days. Meg drove, which made the car ride really nice. Well that, and the fact that I only had Jade with me and she was sooo good on the way down and the way back. It was actually really relaxing! We got down Sunday night and just hung out. Monday Meg, Ash, and I got up and went running. Wow....it was a little hot! We spent the day at the pool, and relaxing at the condo. We did a little shopping and then we enjoyed Cafe Rio (well most of us did. As you can see, SOMERONE was a little grumpy at Cafe Rio) and Nelson's custard. YUM!!!! and then headed to see Annie. It was only ok. I thought Jade would love it because she likes the movie. I think she liked it, but it just wasn't as good as I thought it could have been. Felt really slow and Jade ended up falling asleep before it ended. Tuesday we spent more time at the pool-where I was lucky enough to ruin my 6 moth old camera-, did a little more shopping and then went to Pizza Factory for dinner. We headed back out to Tuachan for Footloose. I LOVED it!!!! It was much better and more entertaining than Annie. The only problem was that cute little Jade fell asleep 5 min in to the play. Hmmmm.....The good news is that she woke up at intermission-but she was really onery. She wanted a drink and was just grumpy. It was then that I heard them announce that they were going to let (pay $5) 8 people come on stage and ride the menchanical bull. JAde had been wanting to ride it before the play started, so I knew she would be happy if I let her ride it. So we ran up there and she rode the bull in front of everyone on the stage. She loved it and was definitely much happier after and stayed awake for the rest of the show. She also really like the play. I love Tuachan. The atmosphere is so awesome. I would love to go down there to see Thriller in the fall. We shall see! :) Wed morning Meg and I ran again and then we came home and packed to go home. We had so much fun and it was a good break for me! Jax and Scott were fine at home-besides the sparkler accident that happened just a few hours after I left on Sunday. Scott was doing fireworks with Jax and they were holding a sparkler and it popped and a spark landed in between Jax's toes. It was a pretty bad burn. It took about 3 weeks to heal. I missed them both but I sure did have a good time getting away with my little girl! Thanks everyone for going down! I loved it. We need to make it a tradition!!!! :)
And another good part of the trip is that these two got along really well! They are growing up!

Lagoon with Friends

We went to lagoon with some friends. Jade loved having them there! We had a super fun day! Thanks for coming guys!

Night out at Gateway

For Jax's birthday we had originally thought about taking him to ride trax since he loves trains. It didn't work out on his birthday so we went the next weekend.

We got off to an interesting start. I had asked Jade to go upstairs to get her swimsuit on. She came down in this:
I decided not to fight her on it. One day she will laugh at herself for wearing his clothes. When we got to the Trax station Scott was getting Jax out of the car and asked where his shoes were. Ummmm...somehow I forgot them. Awesome. So I had Jade wearing boy clothes and Jax with no shoes. We were are fantastic parents.
The kids both enjoyed riding trax down. We went to Children's Museum first and both kids had a great time playing. They both played in the water part, Jax of course loved the helicopter and Jade had fun in the store this time.

After the museum we went and let the kids play in the fountain. Although my kids both love swimming and being in water, neither are a huge fan of fountain/splash me in the face at random times, type of things. So they both got we and 5 min later decided it was time for us to go! :) I love this pic of Jade though! After the fountains we decided to go eat at Applebees. It wasn't pretty. We RARELY go to sit down restaurants any more because it's just not worth it with the two kids not loving to sit through the entire meal. This night was VERY frustrating. Both kids were very tired, very hungry and very irritable. This in turn made for even more irritable parents. We ate quickly and got out as soon as we could! Needless to say, this was a month ago and I don't think we've been to a sit down/waitress type restaurant since! :) Oh well, we still had a really fun night!

Primary Children's-Best day Ever??!?!?!

I had to take Jade up to Primary's the other day to get some blood drawn and she had an appointment with an ENT. She didn't love the blood drive but was super good. She cried a little, but was really brave. While waiting for her ENT apt she got to do this:
Yeah, that would be playing with shaving cream, paint, and glitter. It was so fun for her. Obviously poor jax stayed put for that activity!
The ENT apt went ok. I went away a little confused still, but I think we will be getting Jade's tonsills out in the future.
After the appointment we went to the Cafeteria to grab breakfast. They had Eggs-Jade's fav and single cheese. While we were eating breakfast Jade said "This is the best day ever!!!" I laughed and said "Ok, I guess we will come back tomorrow to get some more blood drawn." She clarified by saying "Well...I mean the best food day!" Ok....that makes a little more sense!

Dinner in the Canyon!

Cher invited our family to come up to the canyon for dinner. Her and her sister's family were camping up there. If you remember the recent post about how things worked when we tried to sleep in the tent, I knew we definitely were not going to go up over night, so dinner was as close as we could get! We had so much fun. We ate LOTS of yummy food (thanks again Cher and Wendy) and the kids had fun playing with the other kids. I will admit that Scott and I were both a little worn out when we left because we were constantly following Jax around making sure he didn't get lost, fall in the fire, fall in the stream....etc. I really had a good time though. We will have to do it again!

The mirror I broke before we went up to the Canyon

Jax and Scott. Yeah...they look nothing alike. ;)

See my rocks?

Scott with the kids.

My Cute kids.

We found Jade a girl batman (and superman) shirt at Old Navy. She L.O.V.E.S. them and has wanted to wear them everyday.
Jade and Jax were reading in the rocking chair the other day. It was pretty cute. (Don't they look excited about getting their pics taken?)

Parade Floats

We took the kids tonight to look at the floats that are going to be in the parade on the 24th. We aren't going to the parade-can you imagine trying to get Jax to sit there for 2.5 hours. Yeah....no. Anyway, I took the kids to this last year and we had fun, so I figured we would do it again. It wasn't too crowded and the kids seemed to enjoy it. Jade's fav was definitely the Monster Vs Alien float that Primary Children's did.
Her fav part was definitely the fact that I told her she could get her face painted. Scott told her at first that she needed to really like what she picked because it was going to stay on her face forever. "YESSSSS!!!" was her reply!

Brithday Surprise! (Post stolen from Cher)

Happy Birthday AlliePosted by Cheryl July 21st, 2009 under Cher , Friends
For the last few years I have really tended to mess up remembering my good friend Allie’s birthday, when I was on my mission in Brazil I forgot that is was in July, and in august I sent her a tape where I told my companion her birthday was in August. Then another year I caller her a month early and wished her a happy birthday, as I was anxious to “not forget” this time, needless to say I have not been the best friend when it comes to remembering birthdays, but this year I was determined to make up for it. It was Allie’s 30th birthday and while she was away in St. George I schemed with her husband to surprise her and take her away for a day at the Spa on her birthday. Scott told her that he had made big plans for her birthday and that it was all a surprise, she had no idea what was going on. Scott met me at IHOP early that morning with Allie and I wish I could have recorded her facial expression when she pulled up and realized that I was in my car facing her, she was shocked, and confused to say the least. As soon as she got in my car she knew where we were going, but didn’t know what we were doing. We went to the Spa and had a fabulous day enjoying being pampered, and relaxed, we both could have just fallen asleep while we were getting our Pedicures because we were so relaxed. It was a great way to celebrate, so thanks Allie for letting me kidnap you all day, It was fun to spend the day with ya.
I have known Allie for about 11 years, we met when we worked at an LDS girls camp called Oakcrest. It is a camp up near Kamas, we were both counselors for a summer up there together. When we met I thought she was crazy, and the longer we hung out at camp, the more I realized I was crazy too, we became the best of friends and have stayed that way since. Oh how young we look in the pictures from 11 years ago, and we thought we were so old!If I had to say who my best girlfriend was who isn’t family, I’d have to say hands down it’s Allie, she puts up with alot from me, and we have been through some crazy times. She got me through the tough time of coming home from my mission, and even the tough time of leaving camp, after all a girl needs someone to whine to when her mother wont let her wear her electric orange Tigger pants out in public. But I have learned so much from her, she is sincere, a wonderful mother, a great example of the savior and a loyal friend. Thanks for your friendship over the years Allie, you are amazing and I’m lucky to have you as a friend!
(Ali speaking now)
I wrote all about this but hadn't uploaded my pics yet. Thanks Cher for not only taking me to the spa, but for writing about it first so I can copy you! So I must add my 2 cents here. I appreciate Cher's friendship soooo much. We get each other. We have been through a lot together the past 11 years and she has been an AMAZING friend. Not sure what I would do without her as a friend! I love ya tons Cher and I'm so glad we met at camp....even if I did drive you crazy when you first met you! I LOVED the birthday surprise. It was the best I've ever had! And for any of you reading this-she was serious about understanding the orange tigger pants. Seriously....we were so hurt! Ahhhh.....so good times! We will definitely be friends forever.

(Please ignore the shiny faces. We had just had our makeup done at the SPA. Easy to see that I won't be buying it. You can compare to the pic below and can so I don't ALWAYS look so greasy! Just had to make sure to mention that!)

And I have to say thanks to Scott for taking the kids all day and entertaining them at the Aquarium and Cabellas and then making cupcakes for me with Jade! And to add to it, Jax didn't take and afternoon nap! Scott was VERY tired by the time I got home! I really appreciate him totally being willing to take the kids and let me spend 9 hours at the spa! I love ya babe!

My husband may soon sell me.

I'm getting expensive. Today I drove a LITTLE too close to a construction sign and shattered the passenger side mirror. I need to start thinking a little more about what I'm doing. I get way to distracted doing too many things at once. It's getting expensive....and annoying.....and maybe a little dangerous?!?!?

Calling my cell phone? Don't

If you need to call me, don't- because the only person who may answer is a fish swimming in Day Break Lake. Yes, I managed to kill off the camera and the phone with water within 6 days of each other. My phone was in my pocket. I bent in to lower Jax into the water (of course in the deep end) and "plop" out of my pocket and into the deep water goes my phone. Awesome. I suck at keeping care of electronic devices. I must be more careful. Brandee has always given me her old phones because I always lose/break/damage my phone before it ever comes up for renewal. Problem is the phone in the lake was her old phone (after my slide phone broke). Luckily Lewis came up with an extra a few weeks back. Brand assured him they should just put it in a drawer and save it for me because sooner or later I would need it. Dang it! Well, at least the kids had a great time at the Lake. Brand has pictures-I will post when I get them. She took them, not me. She was not about to let me get close to her camera! Amazingly enough, I ordered my phone off ebay on Friday and it arrived today! I will be more careful in the future (although Scott's not so sure!) :)
As a side note: One of the times that Jax slid off the end of the dock he got hurt-although I'm not sure how or where. Anyway, he wanted out of the water and was shivering. I wrapped him in a towel and sat on the lawn with him and he let me hold him, like a little baby, for 10 min!!!!! He was just looking at me and I was talking to him. I enjoyed EVERY MINUTE that he sat still and let me hold him! I love the kids to pieces!
