It seems that the week of Dec 13th-Dec 18th most of the Christmas fun was had by me.....instead of the whole family! Oops!
Tues 14th: Relief Society Christmas dinner. The dinner was good. The programs was about the Women who knew Christ. It was awesome and I could feel the spirit. I always enjoy getting together with the sister's in our ward. I love my ward!
Wed 15th: I had been looking forward to Wednesday for a LONG time. After some horrible traffic I met up with Cheryl and Monica at Cheesecake Factory. Dinner was delicious and it was so nice to just relax and chat with them. Monica just moved back east while her husband is in school so we miss her a ton! After dinner we headed over to Cameo and enjoyed a facial and hot stone massage. It was a great night.
Thurs 16th: Jadyn and I went with my mom, grandma, Dave, and Jake and his family to the South Jordan play "Best Christmas pageant ever". It was really cute and well done. Jade loved it too!
Fri 17th: For my dad's birthday I bought him tickets to go see Christmas Carol at Hale Center Theater. It was really good. I had a friend in the play (Kim Tolman) so it was fun to see her and I had fun going with my dad.
Sat 18th: Our ward party was held in the morning. It was fun, but I will admit that Scott and I do not love ward party's for the fact that it ends up with kids running around crazy for 2 hours. And yes, my kids always end up running around crazy too. The food was good and it was fun to chat with neighbors but it is just overwhelming to both of us! Jade had fun going over to a neighbors house later to spend time with her little girl-Maddie. We ended the night at Chick-fil-a with Ash and her kids
Sun 19th: Today was the Sommer family Christmas party. We always have lots of fun at this party. It usually consists of dinner, bingo and the candy bar game. Thanks for Roy and Belva for the party!
Mon 20th: A few years back my Brothers and Sister and I decided that rather than spend money on gifts for each other, we would just have all of us go out to dinner. I have always enjoyed it, but this year topped anything we have done in the past. The original plan was to go to Olive Garden. My mom and Dad were coming as well-it was my Dad's birthday so we thought it would be fun to celebrate that as well. My sister-n-law, Catrina, called me about a week before and said that she would be willing to do the dinner at her house if everyone wanted. I text everyone and nobody cared, so we went ahead with that. It turned out SOOOO much nicer than if we had gone out. At a restaurant it usually ends up loud and you only get to talk to the people you are sitting closest too. You also end up leaving right after the meal-which just set you back about $40 or $50 dollars! Catrina set up a nice big table so that we could all talk to each other. She had it decorated really cute. She served gourmet pizzas-which were soooo good and garlic bread. They also had lots of different Italian soda flavors that we could make. We had such a nice time talking with everyone and loved the fact that it was adults only! Catrina then brought out this delicious chocolate cheesecake! The night turned out so great and was less than 1/2 of what we would have paid going out. We all had such a good time and hopefully we can continue with this tradition! Thanks to Catrina and Jake for being willing to do dinner at their house and to Brand for watching their kids and mine!
And no....I have no pictures to show for ANY of these events. Nice......

Christmas Day
We had a great Christmas day! We were able to sleep until about 7:30 which is probably the earliest both kids have been awake-without our help-on Christmas! I have a feeling that could get earlier and earlier in the next few years. The kids were so excited to see that Santa made it to our house!
Jadyn was so happy to see that Santa brought her an Itouch. I, myself, was a little worried about Santa bringing her an Itouch, but knew that she would enjoy it. She loved it right away but the more she plays with it the more fun she has. She loves playing the games, taking pictures, doing the talking cat/santa/dinosaur/hippo. And....here is the real secret-I like it more than she does. Not the games (although I have spent quite a bit of time at Pictureka) but checking the facebook, blogs, KSL, weather. I love being able to look at them whenever I have time, wherever I am, rather than sitting down at the computer. Lucky for me, Jade is still young enough that she has a lot of other things to keep her busy during the day is ok with me keeping it when she isn't using it to make sure it is safe! ;)
Jaxon loved the Batman trios that he got. He was so excited to just be opening all of his presents. He wanted them all opened and put together right away. He was so fun to watch this year-he was just so excited about everything!
After we opened presents we headed over to my mom's for some yummy breakfast and then more present opening! It's always fun to see all the kids after Santa came! Jade and Seth had fun playing with their Itouches together. Seth showed Jadyn how she could text people-which she loves to do. I will get messages like "Hi mom. Wen are you cum?" As in "When are you coming home?" It's pretty cute-and also crazy that she can text people with her Itouch! Anyway, she loves to text Seth, Me, Brand, Scott and has asked to add Grandma and GRandpa too! The only problem is people will have to try to decipher what she is saying. Right now she spells words the way they sound to her, so it's pretty funny to get her texts.
After my mom's we headed over to Roy and Belva's-for what? More present opening! Jax thought he was in heaven with all the gifts! Jade was soooo excited about the American Girl twin dolls Brandee, Lewis and Mike got her! She is a spoiled little thing. We hung out there for a little while before we headed home around 12:30!
When we got home we all just hung out while the kids played with their new Christmas things. We headed over to my Grandma's about 5:30 to visit with family and so that Dave could hand out all his gifts! He is so nice to shop for EVERYONE in his family-and there are a lot of us! Jaxon fell asleep on the way there and ended up sleeping the entire time! We had definitely worn him out!
Brandee and Mike came over when we got home to see what the kids had gotten for Christmas and so that Michael could give them each a few more gifts.
Whew.....that about sums it up. It was a great day! We enjoyed getting to spend time with our kids and all of our family! We are grateful for the real reason we Celebrate Christmas-to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for him and for the blessings that has brought into my life!
Now for a picture overload!

Christmas Eve
We always have lots of fun at my dad's house on Christmas Eve! Dinner was delicious. We played "run the money" again and we all laughed and the kids loved it! This year instead of my dad writing them a check for their winnings he just let them keep the change! The kids thought that was great. Afterwards we played the white elephant game-only my dad's gifts aren't true "white elephants" since all his gifts are bought at Costco! We got a flashlight and hot chocolate this year. We were happy! Jaxon about killed us there though.....he wanted to open gift, after gift, after gift. He didn't care if they were his or not-he just wanted to open them! I love spending Christmas Eve at my dad's and carrying on the tradition of a "Warner" Christmas Eve party!
We made it home around 8:30. We got everything ready for santa, read the Christmas story in Luke and finally got the kids in bed and asleep by 10:00! Whew!

More Dec fun!
Whew...it's a busy month but I sure do love it! :)

Dec 6th: Scott made it home. YAY!!! We were able to go shopping for some toys and then take them to the Bishop's storehouse that they have. This is something our stake does every year and I love that it gives us a chance to have our kids pick out some things for other little kids. Jax wasn't really a fan of leaving our toys there but he did it!
Dec 7th: I felt REALLY crappy all day. We had planned on doing Gingerbread houses and chocolate trains though, so we went ahead with it. Jax had been waiting for WEEKS to do this! He was OVERLY excited about decorating!

Dec 8th: Went to the Dr. I have strep. There was nothing fun about the day. JAx ended up getting a fever of 103 that night and throwing up so much we just threw away our bedding and pillows. Nasty!
Dec 9th: Amazing what a little antibiotics will do to make ya feel better! I felt sooo much better and so did Jax. YAY!!!
Dec 10th: I had the day off. Jade is off track and when she is off track I let her pick 2 things to go and do with just her and me. She chose to go to lunch at Sweet Tomatoes. She loved the buffet style and all the options. She was so cute about it all. I love spending time with her. I, unfortunately, got my salad and then got sick so I paid and didn't eat a single bite. Oh well. Later we had our "Night of lights" in the car! The kids were looking forward to this too. They piled in all their pillows, blankets and Christmas Movies and we headed out. We got off to a rough start after I forgot the list at home, but once we got back on the road we had LOTS of fun. The kids loved being all comfy in the car and seeing all the lights. I think we made it to about 5 or 6 houses.

Dec 11th: I had told the kids for awhile that I would take them swimming. We went to a place in lehi. The kids loved it. They had lots of fun things for the kids to do. Later that night we had the Sommer Family Party. We look forward to this everywhere. It pretty much consists of: Dinner, Bingo (with prizes), Decorating cookies, playing the Wii and just hanging out. We always have so much fun with Brandee, Lewis and Mike!

Jaxon-isms and a few Jade-isms too!
Jaxon:
The kid may be a little wild and crazy, but he is also hilarious! I love this age. They say the funniest things!
We were driving one night and had this conversation
Jax: Mom....my neck is really hurting
Mom: It is? How come?
Jax: I think there is poop in it
Mom: (Laughing) What?
Jax: Yeah mom. Just lil bit of poop in there
Mom: And it's hurting it?
Jax: Yeah and I need LOTS of bandaids to fix it
Mom: Jax- how did it get there?
Jax: Fast! Now the bees are stinging it!
I'm not sure if he just had a sore throat or what, but it was funny and he was 100% serious. We were laughing so hard!
"Lil Bit"
Jax uses the phrase "lil bit" a lot. Whether it's that he wants a "lil bit" of squishy cheese or he wants to play for a "lil" bit. It's so funny when he says it.
We had this conversation as we were driving to Classic
J: Mom? I need some money?
M: You do?
J: Yeah mom. I need some money. But I won't take your money-just Blands money?
M: Oh....you need it from Bland?
J: Yes. I won't take all of her money. Just a lil bit?
M: Just a little bit?
J: yeah, I just need a lil bit to play those games!
M: Ok, you can call her
He did and had pretty much the same conversation with Brandee. He just cracks me up and no worries-he got his "lil bit" of money from me.
J: Mom what color is this?
M: that is called tan
J: Oh. Tan. I don't like tan. It makes me sick!
The other things that I love to hear him say are:
Didciulous for Ridiculous
Luhu hoop for Hula hoop
"I'm rude at you" meaning he is mad at me for something.
He also uses the following 4 phrases to try to get out of anything he doesn't want to do. He uses them when he is supposed to be cleaning up, going to bed, whatever.
"I'm thirsty"
"My tummy hurts"
"HUG!!!"
"I'm sleepy" (with no intention on going to bed)
"Potty"
He makes me laugh every day, which is good since he also spends a good part of his days doing things he shouldn't be. He teases Jade to no end-always taking things from her, touching her, bugging her. It's pretty constant when the two of them are together! Ahhh....good times! But he is cute and loves me the best and always will give me loves, so he makes up for his naughtiness! :)
Jadyn:
Scott and I were getting after Jade for something. She was at the top of the stairs and we were at the bottom.
Jade: UGHHHH....You parents are KILLING me!
SCott and I looked at each other and bust up laughing. It was pretty funny
Mom: Looks like we are doing our job! That is what we do as parents-and why we had kids!
Dang flabbit: The first time I heard her say this I almost died laughing. I have no idea where she got it but she uses it a lot. It cracks me up every time!
"SHE ACHOOD ON ME!" She was so upset when someone at school sneezed on her.

Jade's school answers
When Jade started school (yes, back in August) Scott spent a little time with her and gave her a Father's blessing and then had a little interview with her and asked her some questions. Her wrote down his questions and her answers.
-Favorite book? Gerald the Giraffe
- Favorite toy? Bouncy balls (what?!)
- Favorite color? Red (Again...what?!)
- Favorite TV show? Hannah Montana
- Favorite Movie? Coraline (Huh?)
- Favorite thing to do with Dad? Go Fishing
- Favorite thing to do with Mom? Pedicures
- Who is her best friend? Mom and Zach
- What will you will like best about school? Art
- What do you want to learn in school? Math
He asked her a few other things but didn't write down the answers. I was surprised by some of her answers. Bouncy balls? Whatever! ;) Hopefully he can do this with her every year. Only I soooo don't want her to start 1st grade and be in school ALL day. I am going to be so sad!
Maybe I should give a little update on school. She has been in now for 4 months. I have to say I am surprised because she doesn't love it like I thought she would. She likes it ok and she likes her teacher, but she would MUCH rather stay home. She loves when she is off track. She seems to make friends with most people in her class and has had a few boyfriends (Fox, Braxton, Gary) She moves on very quickly-even says she moved on from one but never told him. I'm sure he never knew he was her boyfriend in the first place! ;) She can't stand that there are kids that actually pick their nose in class! She seriously can't stand that. That makes me happy! ;) She doesn't love having to get up early for school but we are pretty used to it now. I too like when she is off track though and we don't have to rush so much in the mornings. What am I going to do next year when she is gone all day? I am going to be so sad and I think it will be a huge adjustment for her as well! I can only hope it goes smoothly!

The snowman for 2010
All last winter when it would snow Jade would ask to build a snowman and I would tell her it was dad's job so to talk to dad about it. Somehow it never happened-and she has reminded us about that since then. So-when we got a HUGE snowstorm (much bigger than the predicted"2010 BLIZZARD" the following Monday) come in on Saturday and continue through Sunday morning, Jade convinced Scott that she needed her snowman built. So after church I bundled up the kids-telling them that playing in the snow is a daddy's job-and they headed outside to play. They were out there for a good 15 min before Jax came in. That was about 10 min longer than I had anticipated. Jade and Scott stayed outside and got the snowman built. It took them about 45 min and Jade lasted the entire time. I was shocked. I made them some hot chocolate for when they came inside. All was right in the world-Jade had her snowman. We told the kids that dad only builds one per winter though. So there ya go-he is good for the year and it was only November! :)
