Jaxon's Birthday Party

I am not sure if Jaxon was more excited about his birthday or his friend party. This was the first year he has had a friend party and we had it the day after his actual birthday. He decided that he wanted to have it at Gym Cats. He invited 8 friends (Brody, Carter, Taylor, Luke, Wyatt, Izzie, Parker, Simeon). All of the kids had so much fun at Gym Cats and I loved having a party that I didn't have to entertain kids myself for an hour and a half! After the party we went to a park close by. They had a big pavilion where we had lunch, cake and Popsicles. The kids played for a little bit but it was super hot so they didn't want to play for long. Jax had a great time and loved having his friends with him!

Jaxon's Birthday

I took part of the day off on Jaxon's birthday. I thought we could go to the park, go out to lunch, pool, whatever. He woke up early to open presents and got what he had wanted: the Dino Lego base. An 800 piece Lego set. He was so excited. Excited enough that when I said "Jax! What should we go do? Park? Swim? Eat?" "Nothing....I want to go home and build my Lego." "I am thinking that would be best if we wait for Dad. Should we just go do something and dad can help you when he gets home?" "No. I just want to build my Lego." So....that is what we did. It took me 3 hours but Jax and I put together the entire 800 piece set and he was very proud of his mom and so happy that I built it for him. It was worth it to see how happy he was. Talk about easy to please! ;) Once we were done we did go down and swim for about an hour before I had to get back to work. My mom stopped by later with his present-more Legos. I told him I needed to work so amazingly enough he got to it himself and actually build a Lego car all on his own! He is a great builder! When Scott got home they spent about an hour building the rest of the cars together.

He chose for us to go down to the Dinosaur Museum that evening. He had a great time. Brandee met us there and brought his present: the final set to the Lego Dinos: the Trex Helicoptor! When we finished up at the museum I told him we could go wherever he wanted for dinner. He didn't care as long as we were going home-his focus was back to just wanting to get home to build his Trex Lego! So, we stopped by Costa Vida to get him his Cheese Quesadilla, beans and rice, and headed home. I thought that was a great choice!
He went to bed soon after Scott finished the Trex and he took all his Legos to bed with him. I think he had a great 5th bday and was definitely looking forward to his party the next day!

Happy Birthday Jaxon!

Happy Birthday to my favorite boy! I can't believe he is 5! Whew....we made it to 5-there were days I wasn't sure we would! ;) I love this boy so much. He gives me a run for my money day in and day out but he also makes sure it's all worth it by giving momma lots of loves and kisses every day.
A review from the past year:
- We still have to deal with a high frustration/low patience problem. It is getting a little better but watch out when it surfaces because the high pitch scream that comes with it makes you want to tear your hair out! ;)
- I say "get out of her face" or "don't touch her" at least 30 times every day. Let's just say he is working on making Hadley one tough cookie. Maybe Hads will turn out to be a very patient child and I can thank him later for helping her out! On his Birthday I told him it was his day and he could do whatever he wanted. About an hour into the day I changed the rule to: You can do whatever you want EXCEPT touch/bug your sister. When he is home without Jadyn home he can play by himself really well and self entertains. When Jadyn is home he would rather just bug her. He plays the brother roll very well!
- He has been looking forward to his birthday for months. We made a chain when there were 17 days left and started counting how many more "sleeps" we had about 10 days out. He was so happy when it finally came! He also started asking about Christmas/Santa the very next day. What can I say....he likes presents
- He is super funny-coming up with hilarious new phrases everyday. Whether it is talking about "Natural Poop" (diahrea) and saying how it makes you go bigger and bigger or me telling him he needs to treat girls like princesses and him saying "No way, I treat them like rotten fish!". He is just super funny and makes us laugh every singld day.
- He has more energy in his pinkie finger than I do in my entire body! He is full of life and I love him for it!

My Friend Sarah posted the other day about asking her kids some questions on their bday and recording their answers. I believe she got the idea from Pintrest. I stole the idea and this is what we have!

1.       What is your Favorite Color?
-Blue
2.       What is your favorite toy?
-Lego spider and Lego Helicopter (New toys for his bday)
3.       What is your favorite fruit?
-Apples (He actually doesn’t like fruit much at all. He would choose a can of green beans/peas over fruit ANY day!)
4.       What is your favorite TV show?
-Lord of the rings with the spider that I have (he has only seen a few minutes of that show so I said “Jax…you have never seen that show” “Yeah, I watched it with daddy when I was 3”. I think he named it because the Lego spider came from the Lord of the Rings show) Max and Ruby.
5.       What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch?
-Rice and beans and quesadilla
6.       What is your favorite thing to wear?
-My Raptor shirt
7.       What is your favorite game?
-Mario and Luigi (New on the DS game)
8.       What is your favorite snack?
-Crackers and cheese (packaged kind with the sticks. Yuck)
9.       What is your favorite animal?
-Gorilla
10.   What is your favorite song?
-I don’t have one (Probably true. He is not a music fan. He very rarely voluntarily sings)
11.   What is your favorite book?
-Dino book
12.   Who is your best Friend?
-Wyatt (his cousin)
13.   What is your favorite ceral?
-Trix only for kids (This is hilarious because a few weeks ago we were at the store and he       was     in Brandee’s cart and they found me and he could hardly contain his excitement “Mom!!!! They have Trix only for kids. It’s only for kids mom! Mom..Mom..Mom come and see. Trix only for kids. The rabbit can’t eat it. Mom!” It went on for 10 min until I could go see the Trix and when I let him have a box he was overjoyed!)
14.   What is your favorite thing to do outside?
-Ride my scooter with 2 wheels (again, new for his bday)
15.   What is your favorite drink?
-Cold spiderman (Capri Sun)

Insert whine from Jax: are we done yet? This is taking too long!
16.   What is your favorite holiday?
-Christmas
17.   What do you like to take to bed with you?
-Shark and a show
18.   What is your favorite Breakfast?
-Eggs (Soooo true. He loves “dipped” eggs and will eat 3 or 4 at a time if I let him!)
19.   What is your favorite dinner?
-Mashed potatoes
20.   What do you want to be when you grow up?
- An ambulance driver (He said “An ambulance” and I asked if he met an Ambulance driver and he said yes. I had never heard of this before)
21.   What is your favorite sport?
-My soccer team
Jax man- I love you to pieces and I am so glad I am your mom. We may butt heads at times but I am so happy you love me enough to give me loves mulitple times a day and let me know that you love me! So glad you are mine and that we made it through the past 5 years. Here is to MANY, MANY more! I am so excited to see what this next year brings! Love, Mom

Father's Day!

We had a great Father's day today. I can say that because I didn't do any early breakfast due to Scott leaving at 7:00 for church meetings. I will say I gave Scott a fantastic gift: I wasn't ornery and irritated before I got to church today! He would agree that was a gift. I say that because adjusting to him being gone Sunday mornings before Church (executive sec.) and having classes first, has not been pretty. By the time 9:00 a.m. rolls around I am usually still 10 min away from leaving, I have been yelling at the older two to get shoes, breakfast, whatever and Hadley has been crying for 20 plus minutes for me to hold her and I just want to throw in the towel and stay home! Honestly- by the time I leave the house Nursery sounds like a cake walk! ;) So- I got up earlier today, got myself ready first and made sure I had plenty of time for everyone to get ready. Whew...Scott was shocked and loved seeing us ready at 8:50! I wasn't so happy when he went to count during Sacrament and then disappeared. Hadley was very unsettled and crying and Jax was restless and Scott was no where to be found. I finally took everyone out in the hall. The kids missed the primary song and Scott finally came and found us at 11:45 and said he had to finish a report in the office....grrrr.....so we left early and called it a day. Hadley fell asleep on the way home. I was tired and figured I would sleep while Hadley slept and then would get up with her the rest of the afternoon. Jax was in a different mood all day and was fine to just come lay down by me. Lucky for me....I slept from about 12:15-3:45. See...now you can see why it was a great day for me! ;) Scott was able to take a nap as well. I finally got up and cooked the pasta salad. Jax wanted me to hold him on the couch, which I said yes to because I will never pass up an offer to hold my rambunctious child. He was asleep in about 10 min! I finished the salad and then I painted the girls toenails for pictures tomorrow. We headed over to my sister's house for dinner. The food was great...we hung out with my Dad and other family. My grandpa Nielson is in town so he was there as well as Grandma and Dave. My kids had a great time playing with their cousins. (Jax is funny because I would say 9 out of 10 times on Sunday dinner at my mom's or dad's he doesn't eat. He is too busy playing and says he isn't hungry and we usually end up grabbing him a sandwich when we get home. I am totally ok with that. I don't think I saw Jax once the entire 2 hours at my sister's house!) We went over to Scott's Dad's house afterwards and had a good visit with them as well.

So there ya have it. Hopefully Scott had as great a Father's Day as I did! :) I am definitely so grateful for all the Dad's in my life. I have been so blessed and love my Dad, Scott, Roy, and grandpa's. They have all helped influence me for who I am today! I love you all and appreciate you so much!

Tumbling Performance

Jadyn has worked her little tail feathers off this year in tumbling. She tumbles around the house constantly: cartwheels, roundoffs, handstands, front/back walkovers. I am happy that she loves it but she also hears "Jadyn! No more!" She just loves to constantly work on all her tricks. I was shocked 2 weeks ago when I went in to watch her for a few minutes and saw her do her back handspring by herself! She has worked and wanted her back handspring soooo bad so I was so happy for her! She still has a hard time landing it every time but I am so proud of her! She loves tumbling so much and really wants to get her ariels and round off back handspring so we decided we would have her do two hours a week of tumbling-instead of one-starting in July. I am hoping one year of doing this 2 days a week will work and can go back to one day next week. We will see.
Anyway, she had her final tumbling performance yesterday and she did great. She actually woke up sick and throwing up. We weren't sure if she was going to be able to go or not but she really wanted to try. She seemed ok by the time we had to leave so we went. She did great! She even put in her back handspring which was awesome! Both sets of grandparents came as well as Brand and Mike-which made her happy because she loves to perform for other people. They were having awards at the end and she wanted to stay: We are so glad we did. Synergy probably has over 200 tumblers. They gave out about 10 awards: 2 of which were for Hardest Worker and Miss Jadyn won one of those awards!!!! She was so happy and on the way home said that it made her feel so special. I am so proud of her and know that she totally deserves that award! I love her so much and LOVE watching her perform and see how far she has come this past year.

Soccer

Yesterday was Jaxon's last soccer game for the season. We lucked out and were able to get his same coach from Fall. He is a great coach and has been so patient with Jax and the other kids. Jax was excited to start playing this year. His coach mentioned a few times to me how much he had improved and grown in the past 6 months. He was bigger than most of the other kids, which helped his confidence to go after the ball a lot. By the end of the season he would often get whiny when I would tell him he had soccer but would always go and have a good time while we were there. That being said, I think we are all glad yesterday was his last game and we have a break now for a little while. We have been counting down the past few weeks to how many more games he had until he got his trophy. You can imagine his disappointment yesterday when we found out that he didnt get a trophy this year (which is lame....that's 1/2 the reason little kids play). I told him I would get him a trophy this week though so I guess I will be looking into that tomorrow....He had a great season. He scored a lot of goals and made some friends. For an almost 5 year old, we call that successful!
I am glad he played and now just need to figure out what he wants to do next. I have been thinking about karate...it's inside, he can't complain about being hot, etc. I want him involved in something and just to let him try lots of things to see what he likes.

Ryan Shupe

Most people know that we are Ryan Shupe fans around here. Well, I should say that I am Ryan Shupe fan and got Jade to jump on the bandwagon with me. We had a fun night going to the concert with Melissa and her kids. We went last year and knew we definitely needed to go together again. Jaycee and Jadyn are pretty funny together and Jade loves Bryn too. Melissa and I just had fun catching up. Scott took Jax mini golfing, to dinner and a park and then came and picked Hadley up from me so she could go home and go to bed...after stopping to get Jax a tigers blood sno cone. The weather was perfect at the concert and the music was fantastic as well!
Such a poser

Two silly girls!
Our group

Messy messy...for some reason she liked her purple licorice more than her veggies! She had a death grip on that thing and cried alligator tears when I took it away!

Loved spending time with this cute girl

The band!

7 months!

Ahhh...my cute little Haddie is 7 months old! She must stop growing. I LOVE this age. She is just so sweet and squishy. I need a freeze button....but don't we all.

So what's been going on in the last month?
- She got another tooth...so she now has her bottom two teeth
- She eats baby food everyday and loves it. I was giving her ritz crackers and puffs to eat too but after I gave her the TINIEST piece of a froot loop and she almost choked, I decided I am still not comfortable giving her food like that yet. It freaks me out.
-We got out the high chair for the food and I hate that part. Man....those things take up way too much space. I think we are going to work on just getting a seat that attaches to the chair. High seats are just too darn bulky.
- The baby food has made changes in the diapering department. Nice for me....no more blowouts, but not a lot of fun for her
- We went to the dr this past week for pink eye and to burn off another molescum.
- We went back to the dr today thinking she had ear infections because she has been so fussy and not sleeping. She doesn't. Hmmm...
- She weighed 17.2 pounds at the dr this week
- She is sitting up really well and will sit and play with toys for maybe 5-10 min. She is definitely not one to sit and play for very long.
- She can be very vocal. I think she gets the most mad when she is hungry and I am holding her and need to put her down to do something real quick before I feed. Watch out....the loud cry comes out and doesn't stop until I pick her up and feed her.
- She is on a pretty good nap and night schedule but throws us a curveball about once a week where she won't sleep well at night or take naps. It's weird. I think the biggest change is for as much time as she spent sleeping with me and in my bed she definitely seems to not be able to get as comfortable and deep asleep now unless she is in her crib. There have been more than a handful of nights that she has made it about 9-5 at night but I don't think I can say it's permanent yet. Hopefully soon.
- Her hair is totally starting to grow. I love it because her hair is so soft and silky right now!
- She makes the best whining noises of any baby out there. As in it gets so on my nerve to here "uggghhhh, uggghhhh, ugghhhhh" over and over that she gets picked up pretty quickly. See...she is smart already!
- As much as she likes to be held and doesn't sit long with toys, she does amazingly well while we are out and about. Being the 3rd kid means that there are days- especially on Tuesdays, Saturdays that we are gone all day and she doesn't get her naps in. Because she is NOT one to sleep in her car seat this means on those days she gets very little sleep and is usually still a very happy camper. Last Saturday we were at Jadyn's dance performance from 11:30-3:30 and although she was soooo tired when we got to Brandee's house, she was SO good while we were there and sat through the whole thing. I am so grateful for that!
-She still does not crawl but when she does I think she will spend her days crawling as fast as she can away from Jax. That boy is in her face constantly and I give Hadley props for somehow dealing with it as best she can. One day though....one day...she is going to give it to him and I think we are all waiting for that to happen. When it does-he will definitely deserve it!
-Jadyn still adores her and is always so quick to help her when she is crying. There have been many times I have to get something done and so Hadley will be sitting by me crying and Jade will come to her rescue and either pick her up and hold her or say something to me about how I need to get her! ;)
-She loves her mom the most! (I write this so I can say that without anyone to argue). She will reach for me now...and not anyone else. She will cry if she wants me and someone else is holding her. Love it. I simply love it.
-We all love her so dang much. I just want to hold and love on her all day...and seriously, her cheeks need kissing on every darn day. Her cute cheeks and her eyes are still complimented on a daily basis.
Today: 06/07/12. 7 months old

This is how Hads feels about having to sit on the floor, on foot from me, while I try to get ready in the morning. Mean mom- pick me up!

Happy girl

I took her to Mcdonalds in this onesie and told my mom that I would never have done that with my 1st two. I always thought just a onesie on a baby looked like they weren't dressed for the day. Kid number 3? Eh...they are comfy..who cares! ;)

1st time in a swimsuit. We went to Raging Waters and she sure loved the lazy river!

She loves to rock the tounge out look

Little stink. Fast asleep on the rug after trying for 2 hours to get her to sleep in her crib!

Swimming Lessons

Rather than never blogging because I feel so far behind, I am going to try to just stay caught up going forward and get the past two months in when I can!

We finished swimming lessons today. Jadyn and Jaxon both LOVED it! They were in the same class but Jade would do the drills the length of the pool instead of just across. We had great weather and the pool was heated-which is awesome. They also both love Ms. Amee so the combination of all of those things made it out to be a great time! It was also nice to have something for them to do because Jadyn has been off track and they get bored (and start arguing) pretty early in the day! Jadyn is actually a pretty good swimmer and does really well. Jaxon....well he definitely had a great time playing in the water and playing with friends. The swimming part will probably come later ;) Ms. Amee and I would always laugh when she was helping him with his back float across the pool because he would get this happy peaceful look on his face and lie soooo still. Ms. Amee pointed it out to me on the first day and said it was the first time she has ever seen him be still! ;) That gives me a look into how he is with her at preschool! This was the only session we are doing this summer so we now have 2.5 months until we see Ms. Amee again.

The slide and diving board were definitely favorites for both kids. The days Jaxon knew they would be doing those he made sure to not have to sit out on the side from not listening. The other days....well he spend time outside the pool on those days.

Cute kids and Ms. Amee. I would take Hadley her baby food and feed her while we were there so she spent most of the 30 min looking pretty dirty!
Later today we headed down to our swimming pool with Jon and his kids. My kids love having our pool and could stay there for hours....I could too if I didn't have to listen to them fight and tease each other the entire time. Today was the first day Hadley got in our pool. I got out her float and she loved just hanging out in the pool with Scott and the kids.
