MOM
1. Typically what time do you wake up?
5:30 on M, T, H, S and about 7:00 on Wed, Fri, and Sun
2. On a good night what time are your kids in bed?
Jaxon is asleep by 8:00 and if Jadyn doesn't nap-8:30. If she does, it is late-10:00 or so.
3. How long have you been a mommy?
Jade is 3.5 yrs old-so nine months before that.
4. How old were you when you became a mommy?
25
5. What is your favorite kids tv show?
Signing time-they totally helped Jade and I need to start them for Jax but really I would say whatever is Jades favorite at the moment is my favorite?
6. What is your least favorite kids tv show?
Yo Gabba Gabba-will not let Jade watch it and I have only watched maybe 2 min. Totally lame
7. What is your favorite chore?
My Favorite chore-is that a trick question? Who likes chores? I will turn it into I love having a clean house so I'll do them so that in the end my house is clean. I will say my least favorite chores are unloading the dishwasher and folding/putting away laundry
8. What is your favorite meal to cook?
Again, not a fan of cooking but in the end probably My aunt miriams chicken, pork verde, or anything that's fast and easy
9. What is the meal you cook most often?
Spaghetti is usually a staple in the bi-monthly meal plan. Quick, easy, and everyone loves it
10. What is your kids favorite meal?
Jadyn would answer this with "Chicken nuggets, fries, and a momma's drink" she would eat it every meal if I let her!
11. What is your favorite thing your husband does with your kids?
Reads books (in the most entertaining voices) and plays with them-as in down on the floor playing make believe with all of their toys
12. What are 5 things that make you smile when you’re being a mom?
* Watching Jadyn be so sweet to her brother. She will sing to him when he is crying and if he stops she will say "Mom! It worked!" She will bring him toys when he is sad. She will move him if he is getting in to trouble. He is the first thing she talks about in the morning "Is buddy awake yet? Can we go get buddy?" If he wakes up and I am trying to finish something she will climb in his crib and play with him. She just loves him and it makes my heart melt to see how sweet she is to him! (And to think I cried on the way to the hospital to deliver him-all worried that she would feel resentful or something. He makes her so happy)
*Snuggling with my kids. Jade is a snuggler and I love it! She snuggles when she goes to bed and loved to be held in the morning when she first wakes up. She is also always open to hugs and kisses throughout the day. It's hard to tell yet with Jax. He does love to be held, but he is entering the stage of exploring. Luckily he will let me cuddle him at night before he goes to sleep
*Funny things that Jadyn says. The girl cracks me up. The things she says are hilarious and keep me entertained and laughing every day.
*Jadyn being very protective of me. I think it's so cute.
*Jaxon's face lighting up when I walk in to get him from sleeping and the scurry across the crib to get to where I can pick him up. It is as if seeing me is the greatest thing at that moment (I do understand to him it probably is just knowing that seeing me means that food will be coming soon, but hey, I'll pretend it's all about me!)
13. If you could take your kids anywhere where would it be?
Disneyworld. I am such an amusement park person and I know that Jade would love it and since Jax loves to be out and about and just watch what is going on around him, I know he would be entertained for hours!
14. When was the last time you went out without your kids?By myself? Last week when I went to look at houses. I left them with my mom for an hour
15. What is your favorite past time/activity to do with your kids?
Play outside, go on walks, play at the park. There is just something wonderful about spending time outside just hanging out with the kids.
16. Name 1 thing you said you’d never do as a mom.
Lay down with my kids to get them to go to sleep. Again, the question was "said you would never do" not "will never do" My mantra as a mother quickly became "Never say never" It's amazing how quickly the "I will never....." goes out the window when you are a parent
17. Name 1 thing you do that your own mom did?
This question is hard for me to answer. I think my mom is pretty much perfect yet 99% of the things I admire in her I struggle with. She can do so many things: cook, sew, garden work, fix sprinklers, sing. As I write below, she is patient, non-judgemental, kind to everyone, forgiving. Seriously, I struggle with so many of those things. I don't even sew buttons on. I look back on my childhood and realize she never criticized, she let me try everything (even when I'm sure she knew my success would not be good), she was nice to my friends who were often not nice (man, I am going to really have to work on this one. Someone is mean to Jade and I get so mad. I know from experience it is best for the mom to not get too involved considering fights and arguments and mean things with girls can come and go from one minute to the next). I always knew my mom loved me unconditionally. Ok, this answer turned out long. I will just say the one thing my mom did that I do is love my kids with everything I have to love with. And-in the end, that is what matters-right?
18. What is your favorite quality that your mom has?
Amazing patience, non-judgemental, welcoming and kind to everyone
19. What is your favorite kids book?
Probably "Guess how much I love you" And there is a book I read once and haven't seen it again for awhile that was titled "Don't forget I love you" I need to find it. I love all kid books though. They are so fun!
20. What is your advice for new moms?
1. Never say never.
2. Don't wish away any moments by saying "I can't wait until...." Enjoy every stage. Every moment.
21. What is the scariest or most heartbreaking moment as a mom?
Heartbreaking: Seeing them hurt. Whether that is physically or emotionally. It sucks-especially when I can't fix it right away.
Scariest: Up to this point it is probably when she got the wind knocked out of her and collapsed. Also I hate the feeling when they run away from you at a store and you call their name and they don't answer right away. We are working on staying right by mom-and she wonders why I always put her in the cart!
22. What is your most joyful moment of being a mom?
Seeing my kids happy. Smiles, hugs, kisses. Being told "I love you" Seeing Jade accomplish something they have been trying to do
23. When was the last time you were told ‘I Love You’ by one of your kids?
Tonight when I put Jade to bed.
24. When was the last time you told one of your kids ‘I Love You’?
Tonight when I put both kids to bed

Scott and I will be needing duct tape
-Jade and I driving together in the car. Amazingly, it was quiet until I hear Jade very loudly say "Let's go ya MORON!" to the car in front of us. I laughed out loud. It was an exact phrase I use (obviously a little too often) to those who are driving to slow. Gotta give her credit. The car was going VERY slow. I did tell her that I know she learned that from mom, but it's not a very nice word.
-The kids and I were in the car again and we hadn't even been talking about scott when I hear her say "Let's say piss off to Daddy" WHAT?!?!?! That was a bad parent moment for sure. Scott and I both use the word. I hate it, but I do use it. I DO NOT want my 3 year old using it! So I had to tell her that I know she learned that from us as well and that we all need to be in trouble if we say it. It's not nice and I almost had a heart attack when she said it
-I was mad at Scott for something the other day and I went downstairs. I hear Jadyn get mad at Scott upstairs and then come running downstairs. She then says "Mommy are you mad at Daddy? I'm going to be mad at him too." I told her I wasn't mad that we need to be nice and so she said "Yeah, I'm not mad at Daddy"
- All week long we have heard "What the...?" (Yes, I say that and no I don't finish my sentence. Just the 2 words "What the?") "What the heck" and the one she has taken to the most is "What the Devil?" Which is ALL Scott. He says it all the time
Edited to add: The day after I posted this Jade got in the car-looked at Jax and said "You want a piece of me buddy?" I don't have a clue where she got that one!
Edited to add again: Driving in the car and Jade says "Mom, I tried to listen to you but my mind was out of control (pointing to her head)" The girl cracks me up.
Anyway, it has caught me off guard lately to realize just how much she is listening and watching-even when I think she is busy playing and going about her own little life. So-we are shaping up in this house and working on walking the straight and narrow a little bit more!

Jade's Ultrasound
I told Jade that we were going to go to the Dr's and then I said "Remember when Jax was in mommy's tummy and would would listen to his heartbeat with the machine? (I had a heart monitor at home)" She said "I don't want a baby in my belly!" It was pretty cute.
The appointment went really well and Jade laid really still and just watched the screen. We were happy to have the Dr say that her stomach (and adrenal glands and kidneys) looked perfect! Jade was happy with the blue bracelet they gave her and the ice cream I bought her afterwords! :)
It ended up costing us about $400 and we think that was $400 well spent!!! We are soooo grateful nothing is wrong.
Sick Kids...Sick Kids....Sick Kids
OK...on to some pics of my sick kids. Ummm-if you have a weak stomach for puke (DAD!!!!) you should definitely stop here!
Ok, So I put Jax down for a nap and he started coughing and crying. I went to check him and he had spit up a little. I cleaned it up and put him back down. 2 hours later he wakes up and I went down to get him and this is what I found:

Yeah. Obviously he threw up and then fell asleep. He was covered and I didn't hear a thing. I felt so bad because it was so nasty smelling and all over him. I have no idea how he continued to fall asleep! Anyway, I oviously got him in the bath and he was feeling much better! Here he is right after the bath. Happy-Handsome boy!

The morning after Jadyn was up all night long she eventually fell back to sleep on the couch. I came down from doing some work and this is how I found her:
Nothing like being so tired that you can still sleep standing up! I'm glad both kids are on the mend!

Thank heavens for cute kids....

It's late. Really late. I should be in bed, but I am up working on a report that I should have finished yesterday and need to finish tonight seeing as I am presenting it in the morning. My brain is fried, Jaxon is on his second set of ear infections in two weeks, which means we haven't slept in a few days. Life has been crazy and I think I really would loose my head these days if it wasn't screwed on! That said.....I got these cute pics in the mail the other day and they just make me happy to look at. So, even though life gets crazy from time to time, I sure do love my life with these two in it!

A few weeks ago my friend was taking her kiddos to get their pics done and since I had been talking about the fact that I needed to get Jax some 9 months pics done (mostly because I did it for Jade so I feel I should) Anyway, she told me to just come with her and we could get pics of the kids together too. So....since I had the kids Easter clothes already, it was pretty much a no brainer. She scheduled it and I pretty much just had to show up. The only down side was Jax was not feeling well. It was two days later I found out he had ear infections. At least he obliged us to take a few pics-even if we didn't get much of a smile!

"How do you know?"

In true princess fashion "No more pics!"
