She's Hungry!

I decided if she was hungry enough to eat her toes, I should start feeding her solids on a regular basis! ;)
I am always one to drag my feet when it comes to starting solids. It's messy and time consuming. I started Hadley about a week before she was 6 months. I was not consistent though and probably only tried 5 times in the next 3 weeks. I could tell last week that she was wanting more than just my milk as she stared down anything I put in my mouth. So I bit the bullet this week and have been feeding her solids at least twice a day. She is happy...and so far seems to like whatever I give her! Whew...good thing...her chubby toes are too cute for her to eat!

6 months!

I hate to say it but it is true...my baby is growing up way to fast! I just wish I could slow things down and keep her little longer.
We took her in for her 6 month check up. She was 16.5 pounds (60%) and 25.5 inches (49%). The doctor looked her over and said she looked great. I had to point out these two pumps on her head. I pretty much knew they were molescum- because they look just like Jadyn's- and she confirmed it with a groan. Molescum spread easily and because Hadley has eczema (which the dr also confirmed at this appointment) she scratches a lot. The dr. said she hated what she was suggesting but because of the scratching she thought we better burn the warts off so that they didn't spread to her face. Poor girl. I felt awful but knew that if they started spreading to her face it would be worse. So, the Dr brought in the liquid nitrogen and I had the unfortunate job of holding her down. The Dr said it was going to burn, burn, burn. Yeah, I felt awful. When the Dr was finished the nurse came in with shots. Blah...I think Hads was very ready to bust out of there!
Things about Hadley in the past month:
- She rolls both ways
- She has one tooth on the bottom
- She learned to sit up (though usually falls over pretty quickly)
- She started sleeping a few times in her crib for naps and a few times at night. I am behind at writing this but I will say that last night (so 6 months 1 week) was the first time she slept all night and did it in her crib! She slept from 9-6. (update...has done it only twice)
- Most of last month though, she took her naps and slept at night in my bed. She slept in my room almost everynight. I loved it. I loved snuggling her.
- We finally got her on a pretty regular sleep schedule. She naps for about 2 hours in the morning (going down between 9 and 10) and a 2 hour nap in the afternoon (going down about 1 or 2). She usually will take a short cat nap in the early evening and then to bed at night between 9 or 10 and besides last night, wakes up about once a night to eat. It has been nice to start feeling like we are getting a good routine.
- She is very much a mama's girl. If she is not sleeping she most likely wants to be held...by me! 99% of the time I am totally ok with that! I love holding her and will admit I haven't helped at all with her wanting to be with me all the time. Seeing that she is our 3rd baby I know too well that this time goes by quickly and pretty soon she will want to just be down and exploring rather than be held. So...I hold her!
- She has a super loud, high pitch scream that she uses when she is really ticked. It is used either when she wants to be held or if I am holding her and put her down. Whew...she knows how to make her wishes known.
- I started giving her a little baby food the end of April. She seems to like it...I am just not great about being consistent in giving it to her. I need to work on that!
- She likes to be out and about and is always such a good baby while we are taking the other two to their activities and running errands. The old thing that I feel bad about is that she is not a good sleeper when we are not at home. She may sleep for 10-15 min but never more than that. She is still super good, I just feel bad when we gone past naptime and I knew she is tired but won't sleep!
- She does have a play saucer thing, jumper and a few other play things that she will play in for about 10 min before she remembers she really just wants her mom!
- She is still loved by her brother and sister. Jax shows his love by getting in her face as often as he can, pinching her cheeks, tapping her head....just annoying her! :) He does love her though and I laugh that he calls her "Hadsa baby". Jadyn is still smitten by her and loves to hold and play with her. She is sooo good with her and I love having such a good helper!
- She started going to church the week after Easter...yes she was 5 months old when she finally started going to church. Scott takes her while I am in nursery and then I usually take and feed her during Sacrament meeting. I need to work on that though because yesterday there were 6 moms in there trying to nurse....and only 2 nice chairs. That's what happens when we have had a burst of babies in the ward!
- She still gets told "you have the chubbiest cheeks and biggest eyes" by everyone we see.

I love this little girl to pieces. I kiss her and squeeze her a million times a day. She is so darn squishy! I am so happy we have her. She brings so much happiness to all of us!

Hads was crying so Jade went to lay by her and I found them like this. So sweet!
Don't let her fool ya...she only likes this thing for about 5 min before she cries to be held!
Her first day at church...it needed to be documented!
She is stubborn. I tried getting her to sleep for an hour in her crib with no success. I brought her downstairs and laid her on the rug to run to grab something upstairs and came right back down to this! She just wanted out of that crib!
The many faces of Hadley. That little tongue is out quite often! Love it!

My kids are funny

Although Jax can be a handful, he is hilarious lately. Everyday there are things that crack us up! I have kept track of a few this past month:
- One night I walked into his room and saw a huge pile of food on his floor. There were crackers, granola bars, fruit snacks, etc. I said "Jaxon! Why in the world do you have all this food?" He smiled and said "I'm an Ant and Ants like to get lots of food in a pile." He thought that was so funny. I told him he doesn't need all that stuff. Later that night...when he was supposed to be in his room going to bed...I heard him trying to come up the stairs very quietly. He wasn't quiet and I could tell he had food with him. I told him to come in my room and in his hands he had quite the stash of food again. He just looked at me and smiled and said "The ant strikes again!!!!". I should note he didn't eat all this food just wanted a stash like an ant.
- Jadyn and I like music and love to turn it up and play it loud. I think some of the songs get stuck in Jaxon's head because although he does not like to sing we have heard him randomly singing/saying "
I, I love you like a love song baby" as well as "This used to be a fun house, and now it's full of evil clowns". It cracks us up!
- The kid is a sponge when it comes to commercials. He believes it all and is the perfect age for those darn things!
"Hey Dad...you should drink Dr. Pepper....it's good for Dads" For Dr. Pepper 10
"Invisiline teeth is a new kind of teeth. It's like teeth you don't see. It makes you give a smile. The girl didn't have one and now she does. We must have been born with invisiline teeth"
"Mom! I want to go to Party City for my birthday! They have everything for a party!!!"
"I want to go to Chuckee cheese for my birthday! You go in the blowing tube and if you catch the magic ticket you win 1000 pointy!"
- He also remembers lines from movies: Last week I asked him to clean up the front room because he had toys everywhere. He actually did so happily and when he was done said "I picked up everything....but the kitchen sink" It laughed so hard and he said he heard it on Phineas and Ferb!
- We went to get sno cones on Sat night. While we were going home Jadyn said "Mom! Jaxon drank all of my drink!" I looked at Jax and said "Did you drink it" His response was "Yeah because it was sooo good. It tasted like grapes". The way he said it was like he was saying. "Duh...of course I drank it. It was good so why wouldn't I drink it?" Scott and I just looked at each other and laughed.

I could go on and on. Every day it is something else with the kid. Again, it's a good thing he is cute and funny and loves me to snuggle him because we need the good stuff to get us past the non-fun stuff!

Jadyn:
Ahhhh...should I post this stuff? I should...it was funny...just don't tell Jade I posted it. She would be embarrassed.
Jadyn and I were upstairs getting ready a few weeks ago and I can't remember what we were talking but I said something was "Bull Crap" She then said "Yeah, that is bull crap" I told her that wasn't a very nice word for her to use and that I shouldn't say it either. Her response was "Yeah I say bull crap but you say bull shit!!!" Oh my gosh...talk about shock. I looked at her with big eyes "What did you say?" she said it again. I said "Jadyn!!!! Where did you learn that? I never say that! That is a swear word and you can't use it!" She was embarrassed. She said she didn't know where she heard it (I truly do not swear so it was not from me or Scott). Whew! I think my reaction let her know not to use it again
Not a week later Jade and I were sitting on the couch and were going to play the Wii when she said "I am going to eat you. I can kick your Ass!" Again....same jaw dropping reaction! Seriously! This time she thought she heard it on TV and didn't know it was a swear word. Guess I need to be a little more careful what we are watching. I let her watch Biggest Looser and stuff with me and I know they say that word sometimes, so I just need to be more careful. Let's just say I am glad both words came out only around me so we could talk about not using them before she used them in public!

We are back!

Sooo...our computer crashed...again. This was the second time in 3 months. After talking about what we should do (and because I said it could be my mothers day present) we decided to go with a laptop! I am so excited about it. Anyway....I am definitely behind on my blogging and hope to be caught up in the next few weeks.
