Hadley started going to Lori's when she was 10 months old. I was super nervous to take her to daycare because of how sick she as her first year but when I first met Lori I just felt like it was a good place for Hadley to be. I am so grateful I found them. She has loved going to daycare. She loved the kids and loved Lori, Deysi and Edith. I decided that when Hadley started preschool 3 days a week I would just have her stay home with me on Friday's, which meant she would be done with daycare. She didn't start preschool until September but because Jade was out of school for July and August I decided she could stop daycare in the middle of July. I'm not sure who was more sad about daycare ending....me or Hadley! I really love Lori, Edith and Deysi too. They are fantastic and I miss seeing them all of the time. I didn't realize how much Hadley would miss daycare! She definitely is a "doer" and likes to have something to do most of the time and daycare definitely provided that.
So here is a list of things that Hadley misses from daycare!
- Her friends. She had lots of good friends over the 4 years she was at Daycare. Some of her favorites: Paige, Katie, Weston, Ava, Claire
- Crafts. She LOVED doing crafts and would be so disappointed if there was ever a day she didn't get to do one
- Carson. Oh man....she loved this baby! She talked about him all of the time and would just light up when she walked in the door and would see him. She misses him a lot
- Her teachers. She ADORES Lori. Lori didn't work in the daycare much the last year she was there so whenever Hadley got to see her she was so, so, so excited! Deysi was strict with the kids and kept them on a schedule but we both love her. She LOVES the kids and I was always so appreciative of all she did for Hadley. Edith is just the sweetest, loving and soft spoken. It was the perfect mix there and we are both sad to be done.
-The food. Seriously....there were so many times when I would hear "This isn't like Daycares! Mom, you have to ask them how to make ____". Some of her favorites that we most definitely got recipes for our Daycare Spaghetti (made with olive oil, ground turkey, italian spices, and tomatoe sauce). Any time I would make spaghetti at home Hadley would never eat it (just sauce and noodles) but every time they would have spaghetti at Daycare they would tell me that Hadley at it all and would ask for seconds. I was always so confused by that. But wouldn't you know....as soon as I got the recipe from Daycare and made it at home she ate it right up! Some of her other favorites were "Two in a Sandwhich" (Tuna Sandwhich). I have NEVER made tuna fish for my kids because it totally grosses me out but because it was one of her favorites I started making it for her since she has been out of daycare. She only likes it if I get the brown wheat bread they had there. She also loves chicken noodle soup from daycare. I make homemade chicken noodle soup and she always tells me she likes daycare soup better. I finally asked them if I could get the recipe and lo and behold....its straight out of the Campbell's chicken noodle soup can! Yep...she prefers canned over my home made. So rude! LOL.
Needless to say we were so lucky to find such a great daycare. I regret keeping Jade and Jax at the daycare they were at and I'm happy to say I don't have the same regrets with Miss Hadley. We are hoping she can go back a few days this year when I need to go into the office.
