Lagoon!

I can't believe it is time for Lagoon again! The kids were so excited when I told them it was open again. Jadyn has talked about it all weekend. Every time her legs hurt from growing pains she always says "I bet I'm taller now! Maybe I can ride the big rides" For the past few months we have had lots of talks about how we can see if she is tall enough but if she can't it's ok and she will be for sure next year. Well....I am happy to report that we had success. With the help of some old shoes from a friend and some big flowers in her hair, she made it on the big rides. The first ride we tried was the White Roller Coaster. As soon as the girl measured her and said she was ok Jade was SOOO excited! She kept saying "I am dead. I am so dead! This is so awesome" (I later asked her what "I am so dead" means because she said it a lot that day and she told me it means you are REALLY excited!) She loved the roller coaster. She went on that, Wild Mouse, the Colossus, The bat and the SPider and loved them all!

Jade and Brand on a "big" ride!

A little accident to the eye on the Colossus

She loves dramatic pics! And these are the very important shoes! Notice the heighth they give her! Probably a good 2 inches!

And this is one of the things I love....the quiet car ride on the way home!

Jaxon had fun as well...only he was a little disappointed because the train-his favorite ride-was not open for the day. Luckily we have been twice and the second time it was up and running and he loved it. His other favorite ride? The "scary pirate ride". Yeah...That would be the haunted house that he HATED going on last year and would cry if we made him ride it. Now here is the odd part-this year he wants to ride it over and over....but he doesn't watch. He covers his eyes as soon as he sits down! It's pretty funny!

Not looking!
A Little peek?
He looks scared! He covered his eyes back up very quickly!
Needless to say, we have already enjoyed 2 days at Lagoon this season and hope for many more!

Play dates~

Jade loves playing with friends. She wants to play with someone everyday! Luckily she has a lot of friends close by that are willing to oblige! One of those friends is actually a cousin that is only 5 weeks younger than her and lives just a neighborhood away. They love playing with each other-(even though they but heads at times!) I love seeing their imagination when they are together. They most often make sure to play dress up and makeup everytime they are together. It leads to some interesing looking kids! ;) We love having friends over and I am grateful she already has some good friends!

Here are a few pics from the past couple months. I don't usually take pics on play dates buy come on.....when they change into dresses and do their make-up (SCARY) and act crazy, it's too great to pass up!

This day they chose to dress up in leggings-no dresses. Nice outfits huh?

Dresses and apples-nice

Wow....Love Jades socks and shoes. Not sure why they got their hair wet

They do FABULOUS make-up....and mustache's. The best thing was how funny they thought they were! :)

Time to finish it up!

Whew....are you tired of reading about our at home vacation week! I'm tired of writing about it! ;)

Friday morning at the hotel I got up at 6:30 and worked out for an hour. They had new treadmills and elliptical machines that were kind of awesome because they had tv's attached to them which was way cool. It was a good workout. I got back to the room about 8:00 and the kids were already up and ready to go swim. I took them swimming while Brand got her workout in. We swam for about an hour and then headed out for breakfast. Jade LOVES breakfast food so she was pretty excited that we were going to IHOP. All I can say is that it was another sit down restaurant. 2 of those in 24 hours is WAY too much for me. Easy to say it will be awhile before we do it again! Afterwards I needed to run to Target and then we were going to go to the mall, see the Easter Bunny and do a few other things. Let's just say that Target was not a fun experience. After several melt downs from Jaxon it was the last stop of the day. There was no way I was taking him anywhere but home! Whew....it was an effort. I got him home and in bed, got Jade to take a rest and then I took a 3 hour nap as well. Thank Heavens!!!! Jade was counting down the hours to 6:30 because "the boys" were all coming over to sleep over and she just couldn't wait! The kids had a fun time playing and all 5 of them played together really well! They were all asleep by about 10:00.

Saturday morning we woke up and headed over to Meg's for the annual Easter breakfast/egg hunt. Kids loved it and I enjoyed talking with my family. Because it was conference weekend I decided that I wanted to drive somewhere and listen to conference on Saturday. So....we did that. We left the house at 8:30 that morning and I got home at 8:00. It was a long day but it actually went pretty well. Here is all that we accomplished in one day: Egg hunt, errands, Bean Museum, Library, Park, Aquarium, and the Mall. It all went really well. I was able to listen to all 4 hours of conference with all the driving and I loved it! The kids watched their movies in the car so I could just listen to the talks! Jax got in an hour nap during the driving as well-which was really good. The only thing is that I should have gone home after the aquarium. The mall would have been ok if we had just done the Easter Bunny and gone home. But....I tired to shop. Don't know if I have mentioned it, but shopping-especially at the Mall-is probably Jaxon's least favorite things to do. I'm serious. He will be nice and happy when we are walking down the middle of the mall but the SECOND I turn to go into a store he freaks out and starts crying. He HATES it! So-knowing that I still tried to go to Down East and try some things on. We were all miserable and ornery by the time I left. I should have known better! But....we made it home by 8:00. We had dinner and the kids were fine the rest of the night. It was a LONG day!

Sunday was Easter....and Conference. The kids loved that the Easter bunny visited. I loved that we had a relaxing morning and that we were able to sleep in until 9:00. I wish we could always have Conference on Easter! It was a great reminder as why we celebrate Easter. The talks were wonderful. We headed over to SCott's dad's house that evening and had dinner and an Easter Egg hunt. The kids had a good time....(until Jade got locked in the shed). It was good to visit with everyone there. We had a great day!

Monday the kids went to my mom's in the morning since Scott was at Daycare. They had a fun time with Grandma. After work we went to go see the "Reflections of Christ" exhibit that was being showcased in our Stake. It was great and I would tell everyone if you haven't seen it-google it and watch the video and view the pictures. It was pretty amazing-helped extend the spiritual high from the weekend!

Whew....and then it ended. Scott got home at 10:00 p.m. The kids were so excited to see him! He was also very excited to be home. And I....was ready to get back to our routine. I was so tired from our "At Home Vacation!" We ended up staying home again on Tuesday-"gasp" that's the 2nds Tuesday in a row! I needed a break though-and it was nice! ;)

As tiring as the week was, we had such a fun time and I'm glad we get to play here since Scott was playing in Arizona!
Jade made a "sleep chair" not sure how she slept in it, but she did!

Jade loved this turtle!

Hard to see but this pic makes me laugh. He was far away from me and when I told him to come by me he put his fingers in his ear and naid "Neiner, Neiner, you can't get me" Funny....or not

Again, Funny pic because you can see Jade in the background afrain of this bear. He was HUGE!!!!

Jax and the alligator

She is trying to imitate the cheetah. Think she did a pretty good job

This is Shasta the liger. I remember this being up at Hogle Zoo when I was little. Once again, this is a funny picture.

The week continued

Monday night around 11:00 I went in to check Jax and realized he was VERY hot. I took his temp and it was 102! So I gave him some medicine. He was fussy in the night and still had a fever in the morning. Luckily it was my day off. I had work I had to get done so we hung out at home and Jax just layed on the couch and watched t.v. The house was in desperate need of cleaning and I had tons of Laundry to do. So even though it was the first Tuesday in forever that we actually stayed home all day it was nice because I was able to get everything done. Since my mom was nice enough to offer to take Jade to Gymnastics so that I didn't have to take Jax. I didn't leave the house All. Day. Long. If you know me well, you know this is VERY odd. I honestly can not thing of the last time where I didn't leave the house the ENTIRE day! Like I said though, I was able to get all the cleaning and laundry done so that we could enjoy the rest of the week

Wed morning Jax was still sick. He stayed home for the day and still just layed around. By the time I was done with work I knew we all needed to get out for awhile. We ran a few errands and stopped by IFA to see the chicks and bunnies that they had there. We didn't do much but it was still nice to get out for a little bit

Thurs morning I worked but had 1/2 the day off. Jax was feeling better....finally! We went to "How to train a Dragon" with Megan, Ryan and their boys. The movie was so cute and my kids loved it. Jax was really good in the movie! We ran home, packed our bags and headed out with Brandee to the hotel! When we got there Jax had fallen asleep so we just got the room keys and then ran a couple errands before we headed over to Chuck-e-cheese! Jade has been wanting to go for awhile. I don't love the place. I just think it's kind of lame, but the kids liked it (Of course) We played for about an hour and then headed over to Olive Garden to eat. Honestly I can not remember the last time I took the two kids to a sit down restaurant like that.....for good reason. It's just a nightmare. I even took in the little DVD player. That worked well while we were waiting but not for while we were eating. I couldn't get out fo there fast enough! Ugh!!! We headed back to the hotel-met cheryl and kevin there with the kids-and we all went swimming. My kids LOVE swimming so we had a good time! By the time we were done we were all pretty tired from the day! Jade fell asleep quickly and although it took Jax a little while, we were all asleep by 11:00!!! It was a crazy day, but fun!
!

There is a wierd drawing/picture booth at Chuck-e-cheese. We had fun using it

Jax would not cooperate!
The kids at dinner-The two minutes they actually sat nicely! ;)
Jade decided to sleep on the luggage cart! Crazy girl! Jax was trying to bug her!
Jax was so excited to go swimming!

He left...We played

We are getting accustomed to SCott being gone over Easter. For me it has been 9 years that we have not been together on Easter. Wait...scratch that. We have been together for 14 years (that seems so weird) and we have only been together for 3 Easter's. We lucked out on 2 of those because he left on his Mission-April 1st(ish) and Easter was early that year. He got home April 1st and Easter was two days later. Anyway....needless to say I am very used to spending the holiday with out him-as our my kids since he has been gone for all 5 of Jades and all 3 of Jaxon's. The good thing is that while He is gone for 8 days we spend a LOT of time playing and little time cooking, cleaning or doing things that probably should be done! So I will now play catch up with what we did while he was gone. But not in one post-it would be WAY to long!

Monday: He left. It was Brandee and Alyssa's Brithday. After I got off work we went bowling with Brandee and Lewis. Both kids had a fun time bowling. We spent time driving to a few Mcdonalds to get the new toys from the Dragon Movies, took Jade to dance (ran errands while she was there), got the oil changed and took both kids with me to get my haircut! Whew....it was a BUSY afternoon/night. When we got home Alyssa drove over (Side note on my niece: She turned 16 today. I can not believe she is that old! I swear it was just yesterday she was born. I LOVE her to pieces. I spent A LOT of time with her while she was growing up. I loved watching her-minus those times when I shut her in the closet and may have even mentioned something about monsters....just saying-I took her everywhere with me. We had loud singing and car dancing sessions-This Kiss-. She came and stayed with me while I was in college and has slept over at my house more times than I can count. And now....she is 16. She is an amazing girl and I really can't believe that she is 16!) Anyway.....She came to my house that night and took Jade to the gas station. My how the roles have changed. Jadyn loves her to pieces and thought it was so great to go the the gas station with Lyssa!

So we had a fun day. The bad part was my house was a disaster from the weekend and I had LOADS of laundry. We left it all for the day and enjoyed spending time with Brand and Lyssa on their birthdays!

Picture of Lyssa and my other niece, my mom, and my grandma. Love that both nieces are taller than my mom and grandma!

Dying Eggs....

We always dye eggs the Sunday before Scott leaves. I think Jade and Scott mostly like us to dye eggs because it means I will make deviled eggs...which they love and I DO NOT!!! Whatever makes them happy! ;)

Jax enjoyed dying the eggs but didn't understand why I wouldn't let him take them upstairs to his bedroom when we were done. He got mad, folded his arms and gave us his best "It not FAIR!!!!!"
