Preschool Graduation!

On one hand I can't believe Jax is done with preschool and on the other hand I think it's about time he finishes and moves on up to Kindergarten. One of the best decisions Scott and I have made is holding Jaxon back this year. He is sooo much more ready now to start than he was a year ok. I am grateful we chose to have him wait.

He had a great year at preschool and made some good friends! He was able to have a lot of play dates with Joey and Tate, which he loves!
I don't think I could ever thank Miss Amee enough for the love and patience she has had for Jaxon. We all know the energy the kid has and she truly loves him and has been so calm and patient with him. She truly was the perfect teacher for him the past two years and I just really, really, REALLY hope his Kindergarten teacher can be the same.
His little graduation was pretty cute. Most of the program is them signing songs which Jaxon did not do. He DOES NOT like singing so he pretty much just stood there and did his own thing. It was kind of funny. Then she had some kids read some books. I laughed because Jaxon barely made it through his letters in 2 years and only brought 1 book home. So....imagine my surprise when he read (well, had memorized) a book that I had never seen! ;) Awesome.
We are going to miss Miss Amee. Lucky for us, we have swimming lessons with her for the next 2 weeks but after that it will be a few years until Miss Hadley starts. I know that is going to come around WAY too fast! My kids are all growing up!

 Jax and Bostyn. He has liked bostyn since his class last year. I think I have written some phrases from him about her. One day this year he told him that he wanted her to be his girlfriend but not to tell Joey because then Joey wouldn't make fun of him! :) One day I asked how his day was. He said "Well, it was good. Bostyn asked if I would be her boyfriend and I said sure!" Awesome.

A day in the life

Life is crazy...and busy...and I know that as insane as it can feel at times now, there may be a time when things slow down and I miss it all. (I just typed that and looked over at Hadley who was doing this:  followed by me telling her NO and then she crossed those arms and gave me the mean look to let me know she was mad!) Anyway, I decided I would just make a note of what our life is like in the height of craziness: Baseball/Dance comp season!
It looks something like this:

6:30: Scott leaves to school and hopefully I am working out most days
7:30: Get all the kids up and ready
8:45: out the door
8:55: Drop Jadyn off at school
9:00: Drop Hadley off to daycare
9:30: Drop Jaxon off to preschool (M,W,H)
9:30-12:00: Work in blissful silence!
12:00: Pick Jaxon up
12:30: Pick Hadley up
1:00-4:00: Hadley sleeps and Jax plays. I work
4:15: Jade comes home from school.
Mon and Wednesday Jadyn has dance for 3 hours so we take her and pick her up
8:00: get the kids ready for bed, read, say prayers, give Jax some melatonin
8:30: Scott gets home from baseball
9:00: Pick up the house, do dishes, laundry and work if needed
11:00: Hopefully going to bed

Tuesday's is my day off so it is usually filled with running errands and hopefully taking the kids to do something fun. Nights are filled with Karate for Jax and Piano for Jade

Saturdays have gone about like this for the past 3 months:
6:00: Wake up and go running to train for 1/2 marathon
8:00: Scott leaves for baseball
The rest of the day is filled with Jadyns dance competitions. They have ranges from about 5 hours to 10 hours depending on when she dances and where. Half of the time I have babysitters for Jaxon and Hadley and half of the time I take them. Taking them is hard but needed at times. Dance competitions are nutso. A lot of sitting around to watch 2 min of dance and then rushing to change her again to sit around again and watch. If I don't have the other 2 kids I actually enjoy myself!
5:00 Scott gets home from baseball and spends most of the night getting his church stuff done for Sunday.

Sundays:
6:30: Scott is out the door for church meetings
7:30 get up and get the kids and myself ready
9:00 leave for church...usually running a few minutes behind
9:00-11:00: Teach nursery...which I enjoy
11:00-12:00 try to calmly make it through sacrament meeting with an active toddler and a not patient 5 year old who just wants to go home
12:30: Get everyone lunch
1:00 put Hadley and myself down for a nap!
4:00 Hang out with the kids for a bit
5:30 Dinner at my mom or dad's
7:30 back home and get ready to start the week over!

Classic Skating!

A few weeks ago we decided that we needed to go spend a night with the whole family. During baseball season it is definitely hard to find time to do this so we were happy we could spend a night doing something fun. The kids love Classic. Usually we go during on a week day so a weekend night was definitely an interesting experience. The kids had a great time though and we loved being together!

Gale Center

Yesterday morning I had to take Scott's car in to get the oil change. Jax, Hadley and I walked over to the $1 store (jax loves that place). Afterwards, since we were right by the Gale Center, I decided to take the kids. I had to laugh because I was still in my workout clothes from my morning run, Jax was in his clothes from the day before and Hadley in her pajamas. Ha....boy have I learned to let some things go over the years! ;) Jax didn't want to go at first but ended up having a good time and thanked me later for taking him! Hadley had fun walking around and playing too!

18 months!

I can’t even believe she is 18 months. Here we go with another update!

-She likes to “dance”. It’s more of a bounce but she starts whenever she hears music. She also loves turning in circles. It’s funny and reminds me of my niece, Brinkley, who used to do the same thing

- She started full on walking at about 17 months. She had taken steps here and there before that but it wasn’t until about a month ago that she decided to give up crawling. It definitely makes things easier when we are out and I need to put her down for a minute. Crawling on the floor is just gross.

- She loves animals and gets so excited when she sees one. Dogs are probably her fave and she makes a barking noise when she sees them.

-She likes to sit on the bathroom counter while I am getting ready in the morning. She LOVES to play with my makeup. I was shocked the first time I let her because she grabbed a brush and grunted until I opened the eye shadow. When I did she put the brush in the pot and then on her eye! Wow....if that isn't proof that kids watch what we do. She is only 18 months old but knew that the stuff goes on your eye. It was pretty crazy to me the first time. She also loves to collect all the toothbrushes, turn on the water, and use them all. Fun for the rest of us right? :)

- We were supposed to have her tonsils out on the 19^th of April. We had a second opinion on the 16^th with the dr who took out her abscess. He said that if it was his child he would wait until she was older-even if we could get her through spring and summer and look at it again in the fall. Oh man….at that point I was so confused. The first night Scott and I said we were just going to go through with it and prayed about it. The next night my pediatrician called me and said that she could see both sides but that whatever we decided Scott and I needed to be on the same page because if something happened we would blame the other if we weren’t all in. At that point I just thought “If she is healthy right now, today, why am I doing anything that is risky.” So I talked to Scott and we both felt better about waiting. So I called the dr the next day, so the day before the surgery, and just let them know we were going to wait. Amazing enough, she has been pretty healthy since the end of March. We did have three days last week where she had a fever. The first two days it never got below 103-even with medicine and the third day it stayed around 101. The 4^th day she woke up back to normal! I did take her in to test for strep and it was negative, which was good. Other than that though, we have had about 7 good weeks, which is awesome for Hadley!

- She doesn’t talk. There have been times she has said “mama” but it is VERY rare and I’m not sure she is even referring to me. I’m not really concerned because she is very smart. She follows directions really well. I can tell her to take something and put it in the garbage, or to go in her room and get her doll or binkie and she can do it. She also knows how to get what she wants by pointing or grunting. And…lucky for us….the last few days she has even brought back the ear shattering scream that has been gone the past few months! J I try and get her to say things all the time and constantly repeat a word but she just looks at me like I am wasting my time because nothing is going to come out of her mouth!

- She has lots of teeth. I think about 12 or so.

- foods she will eat: Mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, broccoli, grapes, strawberries, bananas, waffles, gold fish, dry cereal and treats! ;) She still eats probably 2 fruit squeeze packs a day which is good because they are healthy, quick and easy. She LOVES forks. If I don't give her one she will "Ugh, Ugh" and point to the drawer until I open it and get one for her. 

- If she wants to sit on my lap she will walk up to me, turn around and back up to sit down. 

- She loves to play with babies and feed them and put blankets on them. It’s so cute!

- She still loves to be held and loves to snuggle. The past month she has started to give great hugs with big outstretched arms. It’s the greatest thing ever. She will just walk up to me and hug my leg…and then wants to be held! ;) She is VERY stingy with her kisses though. If she gives you one, she will give you about 5 in a row but then it will be days before she will give more.

- She started nursery and so far loves to just go in and play…no crying. She is the same way at daycare, though there was one day last week when she cried for the first time when I left her at daycare. Made me so sad!

- She loves to be outside. If she hears a door open she immediately tries to go out too! She loves playing in the back yard on the slides and sandbox.

- She loves shoes. She will walk around holding them and trying to put them on.

- She still gets very annoyed when Jaxon gets in her face or tries to pick her up and carry her somewhere. She still hits when she is mad and still gives super mean looks. It’s hilarious.

- She is a pretty great sleeper. She is usually in bed by 8:00 and wakes up about 7:30. She takes a nap every day from about 1:00-3:30.

- She is still a lot reserved and shy than the other 2 were. If someone tries to talk to her and she doesn’t know them or doesn’t want to talk to them she will look down at start picking at her fingers.

- She likes to color and will steal your pen and paper whenever she sees you writing with them!

We went to Gardner Village a few weeks ago and got some great pictures that are some of my favorite!
