1st Grade! Growing up WAY too Fast!

Wednesday was a big day at our house....Jadyn started 1st Grade. Where has the time gone? How is my oldest baby now gone 7 hours a day!?!?! It's killing me.
I can definitely say that I have been more nervous about the 1st grade transition that Jade has. School makes me nervous and I start thinking : "What if she has a bad day?" "What if kids are mean to her?" "What if she doesn't have any friends?" and on...and on....and on.

We went to school on Tuesday to meet her teacher. It didn't make me feel ANY better! There is only one kid in her class from last year, the rest are all new. Her teacher has only taught 3rd grade, never 1st grade. That makes me nervous in terms of having no previous curriculum, not having to teach kids basic reading fundamentals before. The room was blank-4 white walls. NOTHING was on the walls! As I walked past the other 6 1st grade rooms I was so sad. They were all so warm and inviting, fun things everyone. Sigh. And the teacher just didn't seem real thrilled to be there or welcoming to the kids. So....all of that combined made me want to cry. I was really on the verge. Jade seemed ok, but by the end of the day had heard me talk to too many people about my concerns (bad mom, I know) and I think I made her more nervous than she had been. Great.

We tried to have her get to bed early. No go. She couldn't fall asleep no matter what and I think it was about 11:30 pm before she fell asleep. When I got home from running the next morning at 6:30 she was awake- and so excited! We got to school in plenty of time to find her line. She was so cute waving and blowing kisses from her line. How could I cry when she was so dang happy to be there?!?! I was just hoping the day continued to be ok for her!

When we picked her up a long 7 hours later she was still in good spirits. The day was long but she said it went by pretty fast. She loved the 3 recesses they got yesterday and she did find some friends. Overall she was still pretty happy.

Day 2? Not so great. Too tired to wake up, crying over the hair, and crying again as she waited in line to go in (NEVER happened for Kindergarten). But...by the time I picked her up she was good. She had school lunch and thought it was GREAT! She said she played with lots of people at recess.

Day 3: Better morning. No crying. Probably helps to have 2 days of being to bed by 9:30 under our belt. We need to work hard at getting that to being in bed by 9:00 but we are making progress.
I continue to hope things go well. I figure I will just go off what she tells me. If she has a problem or is upset with someone I am sure she will tell me. Until then, we will work with her at home on reading and just hope for the be
I definitely miss her being gone all day. It is an adjustment and hopefully we all survive in the end! The one good thing that I enjoy is not having to do an extra pick up in the middle of the day and no fighting from my kids in the afternoon! That part I enjoy!
I love ya Jade and I am so proud of you! Thank you for being such a good girl and always being willing to help me with anything I need. I love all the hugs and kisses I get from you before you go in to class....they help keep me happy throughout the day! Love ya bunches!

Jaxon turns 4!

My baby turned 4! Jax has been asking about his birthday for about 3 months now. Several mornings he would wake up and ask "Now is it my birthday?" So I knew that we needed to really try to celebrate his birthday and we definitely managed to do that!

On Friday June 17th we went in the morning for my Ultrasound. After we were finished we ran some errands, grabbed lunch at the mall, and then headed up to Ogden. Most people would think it is weird to do a small get-a-way to Ogden, but we like going up there and doing fun things. We stopped at Hill Air Force museum to check out the airplanes on the way up.

We then headed to the Hotel. After we checked into the hotel and we went over to the Dinosaur Museum. Jax was in HEAVEN!!! He thought it was fantastic! The weather was great and we all enjoyed being outside. After the museum we grabbed some dinner and headed back to the hotel. It was about 9:00 but the kids were ready for a swim so we went down to the pool for about an hour. Needless to say by the time we got back up to the room and ready for bed we all crashed!

The next morning we went down for breakfast, (Jade loves Holiday Inn Express because they have boiled eggs as part of their breakfast. I might have loved the automatic pancake maker. I need one of those at my house! ;) ) followed by more swimming (ok, I let the kids go down with SCott while I got ready).

We weren't sure what we wanted to do next, but we decided to stop by the train depo/museum. Wow....I am so glad we did. The kids L.O.V.E.D it! We have been before but only to the small museum inside. The cute volunteer lady was insistent that we should go outside and take a tour of one of the trains that they have opened. We headed outside and took the tour, which I thought was pretty cool and the kids liked ok. The great part for the kids came when the guide told us that they could climb on top of all the trains! They were so excited about it. Jade kept saying how it was the greatest place ever! She walked on top of every train she could. Jax liked it too, but would get a little nervous on the top. They both had such a good time and we ended up staying outside for a long time. We went back in to look at the gun and car museum and then went back out to the trains for a little longer! It was definitely lots of fun! We were all hot and tired by the time we were done though! We were going to go somewhere else after but decided we would grab some lunch to eat in the car and then head home. We picked up Gnomeo and Juliet on the way home and we all watched it together in the basement.

Later that night we grabbed some shakes and headed over to my grandma's house to watch fireworks on her front lawn. Jade fell asleep before they even started! I think the day wore her out! Jax was quick to follow after the fireworks. We had such a fun day as a family. It was nice to just be together with the 4 (5) of us! I love days like that!

Sunday was another day of celebrating! It was Father's Day, so we had a fun day Celebrating our Dad's and Scott. I love that Father's day is close to Jaxon's bday because we can have family together for Father's day, throw a cake in for Jax for dessert and Jax feels like he had a big ole bday party with lots of cousins to play with! It works our great for me! ;) We did bring a pinata for the kids to do as well, and they had fun pulling the stings and collecting all the candy! We were able to have dinner at the clubhouse so the kids were able to watch a show or go out and play and they all seemed to have a great time! Jax loved opening presents, being sung too, blowing out the candles and feeling like the special bday boy! He was so happy having "his party" that he had been asking about for months! ;)

Jax has been in to putting on his own outfits together. He calls himself a "champion" when he has these shin guards and his cape on. He will say "Mom? Do I look great?" It's so funny!

Monday morning when I woke Jax up I said "Jax! It's your birthday! Happy Birthday!" Jax responded with "It's my birthday AGAIN?!?!" I laughed and felt accomplished that we did a good enough job celebrating his birthday all weekend if he was surprised it was still his birthday! I had to work in the morning which was ok because Jax just played with all his toys. After Jade got home we made some lunch and then headed to Hollywood Connection. We had never been there but the kids had lots of fun mini golfing and riding the rides. They had fun just being together and I had fun getting to sit and watch them have fun! It was nice they it wasn't crowded because they were able to ride things over and over and over! We had a GREAT afternoon! Jax was dying to get home so that he and Scott could play with his new "star wars legos"!!! I love watching them play together. They both love it! It's makes me laugh. When they finished playing it was time to get the kids ready for swim lessons. It was their first night. (I will make a separate post about swim lessons later) They both had fun....until we were on our way out and Jax tripped on his towel and hit his chin on the stairs! He started bleeding everywhere and I thought for sure he would need stitches! We stopped at my mom's because we were out of bandaids and luckily we were able to clean it up and see that he didn't need to get stitches after all. He is now just like every other little boy with a scar on his chin! ;) By the time we got to JAx's choice of dinner....."Chicken Donalds!" he was feeling much better and was happy to go and play.

It was a great day....actually it was a fantastic 4 days that we had together as a family. I LOVED it and wish we could spend that much family time every weekend! Jax definitely was spoiled and thoroughly enjoyed his birthday! I love that kid

Baby update!

I realized the other day that due to my lack of blogging, I have been very neglectful about writing anything about this pregnancy! Since this blog is my only journal, I realized I need to an update on how things are going.

Last time I wrote about the baby I mentioned not being hungry. That went away right at 14 weeks and trust me, I definitely have my appetite back! ;) I don't have any particular cravings though. I have now gained 11 pounds and I am 24 weeks. The overwhelming tiredness has also seemed to diminish some as well because I have been back to my normal self or staying up WAY too late! Overall though, I have felt great. I have been able to still continue running which is a change from the other two. I am much slower, but can still run 4-6 miles at a time with no problems. I definitely feel like I look much more pregnant st 24 weeks than I did with the other two. "They" say that happens with the more kids you have. It is what it is. I am definitely not fitting in most of my normal clothes. I have a few shirts and a few pants that still fit, but not much. I have LOVED working from home with this pregnancy. I was still working in the office for the other two so I had to still "get dressed" to go to work. It has been great to still wear all my comfy clothes (which still fit and should throughout) every day! The thought that I still have 3.5 months left seems so far away! November? Whew....but I am sure it will come faster than I think. I am grateful that I have felt so good the entire pregnancy. I have really lucked out with all 3 (knock on wood) and have never had any problems.

So....We went in on June 17th for our big ultrasound. We were going away to Ogden for the weekend for Jax's bday so we dropped the kids off to Catrina's and went to the appointment. I had originally thought Jade would come with us to the ultrasound but found out she couldn't. So....we had a great plan. Scott and I would go and find out. We would pick Jade up, take her to Target, blindfold her, and walk to the section of clothes in the store that matched what we were having. She was SO excited about that! When we picked her up we told her "Not to cry if she was disappointed" and to "remember that we are ok with a boy or girl"! We were trying to fool her. She TOTALLY thought it was a boy after all we said. So....imagine how happy (understatement) she was when we took off the blindfold in the little girl section!!!! Yep, a girl it is. The ultrasound tech said she was as sure as she ever has been. We are really excited. We would have been excited for a boy or girl. I secretly (or not so secretly) have just wished for a CALMER child than my second one has been! ;) It was so fun to see her on the screen and watch her wiggle around! We can't wait to meet her! I started feeling her move around 19 weeks. Nothing big though. I don't think I felt her move on a regular basis until about a week ago, so 23 weeks. She loves a lot at night after I lay down. I love feeling her move.

The outfits Jade picked out at Target!

There has only been one problem with being pregnant this time and that is that I had a root canal go bad and become infected. That meant a new root canal and crown for me. It also meant 3 very long dentist apts with out the GAS!!!! I survived but man, I sure hope all other major dentist issues can wait until I am no longer pregnant. There is nothing fun about long dentist apts without Nitrous! ;)

Jadyn continues to be very happy about the baby. She loves to look for clothes for her wherever we go! She may be worse than I am. She made me get out all her old baby clothes the day after we found out it was a girl so that we could see what we have! Jaxon is still pretty oblivious that anything is going on. He knows that we say there is a baby in my belly and does tell me that I should spit it out, but other than that he really has no idea how big a change is coming!

There isn't a whole lot I feel like we need to do before she comes. The only big item I need to get is a crib and the bedding. She is going to be sharing a room with Jade for now until one of the kids get big enough to head downstairs. JAde is happy to share a room with her. I also told Jax we would paint his room before the baby comes, so I need to do that as well.

I think that sums up the past few months and what has been going on! Hopefully I will write a few more updates before she comes!

Jade's Dance Recital!

We had so much fun watching Jade in her final dance recital this year! We had a great surprise this year too! We were a few minutes late getting there and when we walked in they were handing out awards. The studio (through the teachers) had chosen 4 dancers to receive a months scholarship. They said they were chosen based on their talent and hard work throughout the year. JUST as we sat in our seats we heard them call JAdyn's name! None of us had any idea so we were all so excited! I said "Jade....they called your name! Go up on stage!!!" Jadyn said "ME? I won? I get to go up?!?!?!" To say she was excited would be the understatement of the year! She talked about it for days and told anyone she could that she won an award! We were all so proud of her! She did awesome in her dance too!

I love this pic of her walking in

On stage for her award!

These are Jade's assistant teachers: Harley and Kayla. She LOVES Kayla!

Lawn movie

We came home from my mom's house on a Sunday night a few weeks ago. It was so nice outside and the kids wanted to stay out and play for awhile. Somehow, that turned into the kids and I brining lots of blankets out on the front lawn and watching a movie. Around 11:00 they both were asleep. They had a great night!
And I had some great pics....that somehow got deleted from my camera! Dang it! The best part of the pics was Jax in his Champion clothes! ;)

Bingham wins!!!

I always love when baseball season ends.....I love it even more when they take state and my husband is in a great mood for a LONG time!!!!! :) I am glad we could make it down to the state games.

Jax loved these statues! We were walking by and he said "Hey! I can do that!" and he walked over and started maneuvering himself until he thought he was just right. It was hilarious! Jade was quick to follow suite!
