The cutest video ever

As I have mentioned, Jade loves primary and she loves to sing. She has loved the song "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" ever since they started learning it in Jan. We have downloaded if from Itunes and she loves to listen to it on the computer and at home. I LOVE when she sings it and it amazes me that she knows the whole song. It makes Scott and I so happy when she sings. So, here she is! (We'll have to work someday on actually looking at the camera and holding still while she sings, but it's adorable all the same. And don't mind her hair. She tried to pull out the elastic but only ended up with a huge old bump of hair! :) She's too cute!)

Note to Scott: If you are really going to be nice enough to let Jade do your hair, you REALLY should not answer the door if someone comes a knocking. Otherwise, the neighbor (the one who never talks to us anyway) will think you are VERY, VERY weird! At least I can say that 1-Scott was very nice to leave his hair in for Jade, who was wanting to show me her fantastic styling skills when I got home. 2-Eh-we are moving, who cares what the neighbor thinks now! :)

We are indeed moving

I do realize that after my post about being so down about not getting the house I really wanted, I haven't mentioned much about our housing issue. So here is the low down. We found another house in the same neighborhood that we liked. Scott actually likes it better (which is funny since he is now going to have to finish the basement) and I liked it too. So we put an offer in and got to experience the normal side of offering on a house, which is getting an answer withing a day, rather than weeks. Long story short, we closed last week and got the keys today! We also were very lucky to lease our current house out very quickly. I was excited about that as well. So we are now the owners of 2 houses. Scary, I know. I know we are doing the right thing though. The new house needs a little painting (more than I originally thought) so we are doing that this weekend and then will hopefully start moving everything next week and plan on being in around the 7th or 8th, but for sure by the 14th. To be honest I am so stressed out right now I can hardly function. I'm just so worried about everything that needs to be done plus doing normal everyday things done to. I just keep trying to remind myself that it will all be over in a few weeks. Hopefully. I am so worried to move. I know it is right for us, but I hate change. I just hope the kids do ok and that we find a got fit in our ward. It's just so hard for me to go from something comfortable to something that is not. I think we have shocked quite a few people in the ward with us moving. Because we are leasing rather than selling, we haven't had a "For Sale" sign or anything out front. I let the Primary President know we would be gone next week and she said that she had mentioned it to the Bishop and he was rather surprised to hear we were actually moving! :) We indeed are. That is also going to explain while I am pretty sure I will be non-existent to the blogging world for a few weeks. Our internet and phone will be turned off here Friday and turned on at the other house, but I'm pretty sure we won't be moving the computer over for at least a week. So if anyone really misses me, feel free to run on over to the new house and we can put you to work painting, cleaning, or unpacking! :) We'll see ya all soon!

Baseball is OVER!!!!

Bingham played for the title on Saturday. They ended up loosing to Timpanogos, but it was a great game. We had fun going to the games this week and avoided the crazy weather as much as possible. We made it to games on Tues, Fri, and Sat. I was so happy because they played at UVU and they have a covered playground in the stadium. I love that! Jax was so good at the games. Well, he did struggle a bit on Tues, but who could blame him. It was very windy, he has horrible allergies and I'm sure the wind was making his ear infection (which I didn't find out about until Wed) much worse. Interesting thing did happen on Tues though. I had parked the stroller at the top of a hill on the cement. I didn't put the brakes on because-hey-it was on flat ground. well, I was turned around watching Jade when I hear people start yelling "Hey! Whoa!" I turn around to see what all of the commotion was and I realize they are pretty much yelling to me because just then I see Jax zooming by in his stroller, down the steep hill toward the cement wall at the bottom. I RUN to catch him, which I manage to do as I slide and fall as I'm doing so. Yes, everyone was watching. I'm sure it was hilarious to watch. Oh well. Bingham ended up doing really well and I was really hoping they would win it all. Jade was very adamant about staying afterwards to see her dad. It always takes awhile to wait after the last game, but I am so glad we did. Scott had to go home on the bus and Jadyn was OVER THE MOON when he told he she could ride with him. I mean you seriously would have thought he had just told her she was going to Disney or something. She was SO excited. It was so cute. He said she was so good on the bus. I met them at Bingham because we were going to go to dinner. I stopped by and he mentioned a team dinner at some Chinese Buffet. Yeah, not my thing. The smell alone makes me want to puke. Jadyn wanted to go with her dad to dinner so I said I would take Jax home to bed if he took her. Off they went to dinner with all the boys. When they got home Scott said she was an angel at dinner. He said she sat so good and was being so nice all night. We were both very proud of her! I think she just felt really special for getting to go with him.

So, as of today, it's officially over. I could have sworn it was over after the game on Saturday, but that was followed by the team dinner and that was followed by a 3 hour team meeting after school today. 3 hours?!?! Wow....who knew boys could talk for three hours! :) Really though, I am glad it is over. There is a part of me that enjoys going to the games-especially the tournament games, but obviously the bigger part of me enjoys having my husband not be gone until at least 7:30 p.m. Mon-Fri and 9:00-5:00 on Sat. (And if anyone thinks I am exaggerating on that, I am soooooo not. Those are true hours during baseball season) It is going to be a nice change. It's funny too, because it's almost like I become a different wife when it ends. I'll admit, a nicer-happier-wife.

That said, I will admit (although, I have a hard time admitting this during season) that I know that Scott coaching helps make a different in the boys' life. I also know (sometime unfortunately) that teaching and coaching is what he is supposed to be doing. I know that it makes Jade happy to go to the games and watch the boys and run around and play. I know that next year Jax is going to love it too. I love watching Scott take her on the golf cart while he rakes the field, or hold her while he finishes a practice or what not. I also know that coaching baseball makes Scott happy and he very much enjoys doing it. Someone told me the other day that I will miss it all when it is over. I laughed because -When what's over? It's not like a parent with a child in a 4 year program, this is our life for a good 20+ years! I am proud of Scott though. He knows what he is doing on the field and the kids love and respect him.

Jade

Jade is now closer to 4 than 3! She seems to have grown up so much lately. The toddler has left and the kid is growing and growing. She continue to make us laugh from things she says every day! She is working on some of her pronunciation so I thought I should make a list of a few words that I will miss because I know she won't say them like this forever:
"Ka-lease" (Please)
"Bery" (Very)
"Banastics" (Gymnastics)
"Grandma Devi" (Grandma Debi)
"Headfore" (Forhead)
"Buddy" (Jaxon-although this one may stick)

ETA: As I was writing this post it was late-like 11:00 p.m. From downstairs I hear "Mom? Can I talk to you for a minute?" And I'm thinking "Weren't you supposed to be asleep an hour ago?" So I go downstairs. "Alright, what would you like to talk to me about?" Insert irratated voice "Dad! He will not rub my back. I say "go!" and he does not go! And he snored. I heard him! And I didn't come upstairs. I just wanted to talk to you so I yelled up!" Like I said, she keeps me laughing every day.

Have I mentioned she talks.... A LOT. It is seriously non-stop in the car. I hear "Hey Mama..... Hey Mama...... Hey Mama......" the entire road trip. Most the time I don't mind because she is very creative and her imagination is hilarious, so it's entertaining, but if I am in the car with someone or talking on my phone she doesn't care. She still wants to be talking to me and gets irritated when I'm not listening. She'll say "Mom, I'm talking. Mommy, listen to me" Just can't quite figure out where she gets the whole non stop talking thing. I mean-it's definitely not from me. Yes-I'm kidding, and Scott loves to remind me where she gets it from! :)

She is still loving Jax but I have started to see her get frustrated with him a few times. He loves to play with whatever she is playing with. It's cute because when he first scoots over to her she talks to him and if he grabs her stuff she will try to give him something else that she isn't playing with. He is not easily swayed, so he will got back again and again to her things and then she does start in on "Jax, don't get my stuff. Mom! He's getting my stuff" She has also been into "Mom, he hit me! Mom, he pulled my hair!" That said-Jaxon thinks Jade is the funniest person around. Oh my gosh, she does this weird pig snort at him and wiggles her hand and he laughs so hard at her. She practically could just glance his way and he will laugh. It's pretty cute. I love watching them.

I am a little worried about how she is going to be in a new house. I hate taking her away from what she knows and actually am mostly worried about her at church since she loves her teacher right now. It's a good thing kids are resilient. She is excited to get bunkbeds in her bedroom-just like Seth and Zach's. Do you think that means she may actually sleep in her own room? :)


Jax

Jax has fallen in love with this bat. He will hold on to it and then scoot all around the house. I'm sure his dad is very happy about that.

He is 11 months old! Time flies, time flies, time flies. My sweet Jax is getting so big yet at the same time still seems so little! I just can't believe he is almost one! He is still only scooting. No pulling up, standing, crawling, or walking and now that we are moving, I hope that stays the case for about another few weeks! He is very determined to get whatever he wants by scooting. He is still the most calm, peaceful, content little baby. I have had so many people tell me how he is such a good baby and just seems so content to sit and watch. They are right. Besides when I have him outside in the wind with raging allergies and ear infections, he is the best kid. He will sit in his carseat or stroller for hours, with no complaint, if he can just look around and watch what is going on all around him. He is still eating baby food, but is definitely starting to loose interest-especially in the veggies. Don't blame him, when he is getting a lot of table food, I'm sure they are just too bland. So I'm sure we'll start weening him off of them soon. Same with formula, I will probably start transitioning him to cow's milk soon. Though, it's much easier to get warm water for the formula then to be out and about and find somewhere to warm up milk. I'm sure a lot of people would then say I should just wean him off of his bottle. But-I learned my lesson with JAde. Jax will not be off his bottle until I am very convinced he will continue to drink milk from sippy's. Until then, he will have his bottle. He usually has 3 a day. He sleeps great, takes two naps a day, and falls asleep all on his own. His smile and eyes are to die for! HE is the cutest thing ever and I love him so much!

Sick Kids- and playing catch up

Alright, I haven't posted for a week. Life has been crazy, crazy, crazy! So I am going to play catch up today because after today, it may be awhile before I get back to blogging, so here come a few posts about life.
First-Sick kids. Gosh-I think it was about 5 weeks ago that I said this should have been my moto for awhile and here we are again. As you know from previous posts, Jax is a very calm and good natured baby. He is also prone to ear infections. So when he didn't sleep very good for 3 nights in a row, I was 99.9% sure he had another ear infection. Wed morning I took him in and yes indeed, another one. We went away with a prescription for amoxicillan as well as a referral to go and see an ENT to get tubes. Fun. We ran to get his medicine and Jade was pretty bummed she didn't get any medicine herself and said that buddy could share! Yes, she loves medicine. When we got home and she started saying she didn't feel good I was sure she was just trying to get some meds. Well, she proceeded to lay on the couch and not eat all.day.long. She hadn't woken up till 9:45 that morning, so that may have been my first sign, but oh well. She was indeed sick and ended up throwing up Wed, Thurs, and Fri. She pretty much didn't eat anything from Tues-Fri. Lucky for me, besides a little whining here and there, she was pretty good. The good news is they are both on the up and up. It's a good thing too-we don't have time in the next few weeks for sick kids, so hopefully it passes us by for awhile!

YES!!!! Love him

I am one happy girl tonight!!!! I love him-and his music. Don't worry, I confessed my love about him to Scott! :) He's not worried. I have never voted for a contestant on American Idol but last night felt the need to do my duty and vote!!!! YAY!!! I am so happy he won! He rocks! (I do think David Archuletta has an amazing vote, just really liked this David's music more!) I can't wait to buy his first cd! I have already downloaded several songs on Itunes.
Alright-just thought I'd blog about my happiness. It's been a long day, so this was nice.

Woohoo! I survived!

I have been wanting to run a 1/2 marathon for quite some time. I had signed up for one in 2004 just before I found out I was pregnant with Jade. In Jan, I decided now was the time. Luckily, shortly after I signed up, I found a neighbor who too had already signed up for the same race. We started training in Feb. We have been running short (5-6 miles) on Tues and Thurs and longer runs on Sat (8-13 miles) It has been great. There is something very invigorating being outside early in the morning.
Last Sat was "the day" I decided it would be best to get a hotel by the race so I didn't have to get up at 3:00 a.m. to get to the race. Jadyn was so excited to get to stay in a hotel! Jaxon had a hard time getting to sleep, which I totally expected. He is used to sleeping in his crib, in the dark. Sleeping in his pack and play with so many others in the room. We were all asleep by 11:00 p.m. though, so not too bad!
5:00 a.m. came too fast, and luckily for Scott, Jax and Jade were up as well. Another joy of having everyone in one room. Brandee came up too and was nice enough to drive me up to the start of the race so that I didn't have to go so early to catch the bus! I was getting a little nervous, but was just wanting to get this thing started.
We were off at 7:00. It was so exciting. There were so many people and it is so fun to have so many runners around. My running partner and I stayed together for about the 1st mile, but then she went ahead. I have this weird mental thing where I can't start out faster than I am used to running. Even if I feel great. There was a hill at the beginning of mile 2, but the rest of the race was FABULOUS!!! It was a slight decline or flat and running through the canyon was beautiful. The entire race was in the canyon. Mile 10-12 was on a river trail and just the last mile on the city street. I caught up with my partner at mile 7 and that was nice. I was still feeling pretty good, but by mile 11 was ready for this thing to end. When I came on to the city street I was done. I was a little ahead of my partner by then but luckily a girl running by me started talking to me and we decided to pace each other to the end. I was glad. There was also a man on a bike that was riding along cheering everyone on that really helped. The last 5 blocks I just kept thinking of my kids and knowing they were waiting for me. It was motivating, that's for sure. At the last block I was ready to sprint to the end. I saw Jade just then and waved to her she was so excited to see me! It was so cute. She yelled "Mommy, come here!" I had told her for awhile that she could run at the end with me and I couldn't pass her up. So I grabbed her hand and we started running toward the finish line. She was laughing and giggling! "Mommy, we are going to win!" and "Mommy they are waving to us!" all the while waving back! We crossed the finish line and she was overjoyed that we did it-that she got to do it with me. It may have taken me an extra few minutes, but it was totally worth it! For some odd reason they even gave her a medal! Her face was priceless and she was seriously so proud of the 2 of us! She loved all of the after race treats we got. It took me a minute to realize the area we were in was for runners only, but no one said anything about her being in there. We hung out for a little while later, let Jade play on the slides and in the water fountain and then headed home. Both kids were so tired and fell asleep on the way home!
It was a fantastic morning. My goal was to finish in 2 hours and 10 min and I finished in 1 hour, 59 min, and 59.66 seconds!!! So I finished under 2 hours with no time to spare! I was very happy with my time! Running races is addicting. I don't want to run a marathon, but these 1/2 marathons are great. It is so nice running through beautiful canyons and feeling like I accomplished something great. I can't wait to do it again! We have signed up for a 10 miler in June, and two more 1/2 marathons in August! It's a summer of running baby!

Mother/Daughter Activity

Staying with the theme of my last two posts............

Tonight I had the Mother/Daughter activity for the Achievement Day girls. I am so glad it's over. Somehow I ended up doing it all by myself. The girl I was serving with moved about 2 weeks ago-for the summer- and the girl in the primary presidency that is over Achievement Days is pregnant and very sick so she wasn't able to help much either. Had I known I was going to end up by myself, I think I would have skipped the whole thing all together. It has been weighing on me a lot the past couple weeks. I have had several people in the ward ask if I needed help, but I kind of felt like they all had their own callings and didn't need to be doing mine as well. I did realize that I needed help-especially because Scott was going to be at baseball so not only did I need to get everything set up and run the activity, I was also going to have both of my kids with me. I called my mom. I asked if she was busy on Tuesday night. She said she did have some thing, but could not have some things if I needed something. That, is why I love my mom. I told her that I was going to be the only one doing this activity and asked if she could help. She immediately said she could and she would just rearrange her plans! I could not have done today with out her help. Thanks mom- I love you! Also, my friend Rachelle had the cutest little basket idea for the center pieces and was nice enough to come over Monday night to help me put them together.
Overall, the activity went really well. I had a better turn out than I thought I would, which made me really happy. I think everyone had a good time. And, the best part about it is that it's over! :) I actually really like being an Achievement Day leader, but I am not fond of the bigger activities we have to plan. They just stress me out a little too much.
I must say that I loved having cute Jade at the activity. How fun to have a Mother/Daughter activity and have both my mom and my daughter there! Jade loves being with all the girls and feels so big when she gets to participate in these things!
Thanks again to my mom and Rachelle for helping me. I really, really appreciate it!

More on Mother's Day

I wanted to add a little more on Mother's day and my cute Jade. All weekend long she would say to me "Happy Mother's Day mom!" I heard it all weekend and it was great. As soon as I told her that Daddy was going to take her shopping she ran upstairs and came down a few minutes later with two "cards" she made for me! She did get to go and pick me out her own Mother's day card. She was soooooooooo excited to give it to me. She was bursting with excitement. Want to know what the card said? On the front there was a monkey talking on the phone. On the inside it says "Your future is calling. Congratulations Grad!" I LOVE it. She picked it. You guessed it though, the graduation cards were right next to the Mother's Day cards and she didn't care what Scott told her-The monkey was the perfect card! I will treasure it forever.

Happy Mother's Day!

I love being a mom. I am so grateful that I can not only celebrate this day by honoring my mom and the wonderful women in my life, but also be celebrated by my greatest blessings. We had a long and wonderful day. We actually made it to church on time today before the Sacrament! I was so excited to go to church today because I knew that cute little Jade was singing a Mother's Day song with the primary kids. I think I was probably more excited about it than she was. She had to go potty and I was so afraid she was going to miss the song that I ran down the hall to get her so that she made it on time! And-I am happy to say I loved watching her sing just as much as I thought I would! She was so cute standing up there and singing all of the words to "Mother I love you!" She ran back to her seat when we were done and gave Scott and I a big hug and we told her how proud we were of her! It was so sweet!
We all enjoyed a nice nap in the afternoon and then headed over to my sister's to spend time with my mom and family. Jade had a wonderful time playing with her cousins (although she was lost with Zach for a minute when they went over to a neighbors without letting any of us know!) Jaxon had a grand time crawling around for at least an hour. It's so funny to watch him scoot around with both arms and only using one leg. He loves when he can have free reign.
After my mom's we went to the cemetery and took flowers and a windmill to Carla's grave and then went and stopped by Belva's mom's house to see her and Roy.
Overall it was a good day. I am so grateful for my own mom. I wrote in her card that the longer I am a mother, the more I realize just how amazing she is and how much she has always done for her kids. I have always known these things, but the appreciation deepens each and every day.

I am grateful for the legacy Carla left us and try to pass that along to my kids as well. I have also been blessed with wonderful grandma's who's example to me has been life changing.

I am grateful for my sister and sister-n-laws who are all amazing mom's to be cute neices and nephews.
And I have great friends that are also fantastic mom's and examples to me. I truly am so grateful for all of these wonderful people in my life. I love them all dearly!
I did take a few pics with the kids today, but they are on my mom's camera because mine is still being fixed. I will post them when I get them from my mom.

Lesson Learned: You can not bring toys to Daycare

This morning Jadyn was insistent on taking these two miniature princess plastic figurines with her to daycare. It's a rule at daycare that toys from home can only be brought on Wed, which is show and tell day. I have always been very good at following this rule and convince Jade to bring whatever with us in the car and then leave them in their to wait for her. Today, she convinced me that it would be ok if she put them in her pocket and took them with her. I told her they needed to stay in the pocket. She insisted they would. I knew this would probably not be the case, but figured it was probably not a big deal. I was wrong. When I picked Jadyn up she had a big ole bite mark on her face. The daycare lady and I talked for a minute after Jade had gone in to the backroom to play. I am sure those toys came out as soon as she got in to the room. I didn't hear her cry, but by the time I left and the lady that watches them walked to the backroom, Jadyn was crying and holding her face and saying "She bit me!" Not sure what happened. It could have been that the little girl (who has the same two toys) thought they where hers and was upset Jade had them, or the other little girl wanted to see them, but Jade was determined to keep them herself. Either way, this little girl (who is almost 3) bit Jades cheek-and she got a good bite! The Daycare lady felt awful, but it was she and I that were talking when it happened. Jade and this other little girl have been there together their entire lives and never had this problem and love playing together, so I really didn't think too much about it. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened before. It often seems to come with the daycare territory. Jade and I both learned this is why it's best to leave your own toys at home. Needless to say, I don't think I will have a problem convincing her of this in the future!

A little happiness at the end of a rough day

So yesterday was a crazy day. Busy at work, dealing with another very frustrating housing situation, and just having way too much to do and not enough time. Then, Scott got the mail, and this is what we found:

Many of you may remember this post about our California Red Light Traffic Ticket. We decided to fight the stupid thing. We thought it was a pretty lost cause, but considering there are actually websites built on how to fight these tickets, we would give it a shot. So I researched off of those websites, gave the information to Scott and he went about writing a 3 PAGE letter to the court! It paid off. 10 weeks after submitting the letter, we found out all of our $381 will be refunded. YAY!!!! Lesson learned here: 1-Be careful in California. Don't try to turn on a red-even if it is only .15 seconds after. 2-Don't give in when you feel you are right! Take the time to fight for what you think you deserve!

Proud Mommy Moment

Last Sunday we were in Sacrament meeting and Jadyn told her Dad "I want to go up there" Scott told her "Next week." Silly Scott probably thought she would forget. Today, about half way through testimony meeting she said "Now can I go up there?" I told her to ask her dad. She did. It's one of those things that I would never discourage her from doing, even though she doesn't fully understand why people were going up there and crying. But-she wanted to go. Being the good Dad that he is, Scott asked her what she wanted to say. "I love mommy and Buddy" So off they went up to the stand. Scott held her up to the mic and I knew she would shy up and he would just have to talk while holding her. Much to my surprise, with a little help from Scott, she proudly said "Testimony. I'm grateful for primary and for Sis Walters. I love Jesus. I know the church is true. Jesus Christ amen." There I sat, smiling, with tears in my eyes. It was so cute and she was so happy with herself. And I- had a proud mom moment. Scott took his turn and while talking Jade proceeded to try to climb over the little banister they have up front. No worries, the bishop grabbed her leg so she didn't fall head first to the ground! :) That's my girl! I love her to pieces and I am proud of her for wanting to go up there and not being shy at all. She does love primary and Sis Walters. Amazing that just a few short months ago, the thought of her staying alone in a class was totally inconceivable and now she wants to go to primary as soon as we get to Church. I need to make sure to write Sis. Walters a letter before we move and get a picture of her with Jade. Jade will miss her so much! I know her testimony and love for the gospel has grown tremendously the past 4 months since she has been a sunbeam!

Just a kid update.

Anyone reading can skip this, but I have to remember the funny things they do. And I wish I could post pictures but my camera broke and I had to send it in to Kodak to get fixed. Sure hope I get it back soon!

Jade:
-Today while driving in the car I mentioned in 2 weeks I was going to run a long race and her and dad and Jax were going to come watch me at the end. Jade said "Mommy, you are going to run so bery (Yes, she will not say "V"ery. She will use the V sound for every other V word, but Very. The other day I said "Say V, V, Victor" So she did. Then I said "Say V, V, Very". She said "V, V, bery!" and laughed hysterically) fast and win that race!" I told her that I wouldn't win, but I would finish. Jade said very seriously "Mom, I will give you Monk and he will run with you and help you run so bery fast. And if you win I promise I will give you one of my bery special treat!" She thought that was just the best idea ever! I know she loves me if she is willing to give me monkey to help me run and a treat when I win!
-We went looking at houses the other night and I got the kids in their jammies before we went. Jade played dress-up just before we left and decided she needed to go as Cinderella. So off we went looking for houses with Cinderella (and her 18 billion accessories) in tow.
-She also told us which house to choose. The "piano" house. It was the only house not vacant and there was a little girl that lived there and she has a piano. Jade things it comes with the house.
-She has had a hard time lately listening. She likes to do her own things-especially open the garage door. I have told her over and over that she is only to open the garage if I am with her, but she struggles a little with that.
- She says "I can't believe this!" and "Are you kidding me?" all the time. We still here "What the?" often too.

Jax
-He has found something he LOVES. A mini magnadoodle. He loves it, holds on to the pen for dear life, and has a fit if you take it away. He also had a big old red mark on his forehead today from whacking himself in the face with it.
-He has bitten his own fingers a few times this week and just can't figure out who would do such a thing to him.
-His personality has been shining lately. He smiles and smiles and is so happy when someone plays with him.
-He is so fun to get out of bed as he scoots to the corner of the crib closest to the door and laughs when you go to pick him up.
-He gets so many compliments on his eyes. Every time we go out someone will say "Look at his big blue eyes!" Yes, he is pretty cute if I do say so myself
-He is still army crawling and gets everywhere......FAST..........he still pretty much only uses one arm and one leg, but it's amazing the speed! HE has gotten in to garbage, papers, pantry-everything!
