It's crazy the 24th was only a month ago....feels like it was so long ago! Anyway, we had a great day.
Jade and I went in the morning and got her hair cut and then went and did some school shopping. I refuse to do much school shopping because she already has lots of summer clothes and that is all she is going to wear until fall. So, I told her I would let her buy a couple shirts and a new pair of shoes. After we went shopping we went home to grab Scott, Jax and Hads and headed over to Megan's. This was the first year in my entire life that we didn't have a BBQ/Party with my Dad's side of the family. It was a little weird but my sister was nice enough to throw a party/bbq at her house (Yes, we tend to do all the parties at Megan's. Good thing she has a great house, yard and doesn't mind having loads of people over). We all pitched in and she rented this big water slide. The kids were in heaven and spent HOURS playing on the slide! It was awesome! Scott took Hads home to nap and the kids continued playing. We left and headed straight over to my uncles house for another BBQ. I was able to see my aunt Miriam who was in town from Washington. After the party the kids were begging to go back over to Megan's and being that it was our last day of Summer before Jadyn started school, I decided to let them go.
I love days like this: The entire day spent with lots of family relaxing and having a good time!
And....I should mention that I am grateful for the reason we celebrate the 24th of July. I honestly can not imagine what the pioneers went through to get here, in this valley. I am grateful for the sacrifices they made for all of us.
Josh said he wanted to take Hads down the slide. I was a little hesitant but decided to let him try. He walked over to the slide and decided he better try it first himself. Let's just say it is a good thing he did....she would have been seriously injured. That slide was fast and crazy at the bottom!
Cute kiddos after hours on the slide!
