sleeping kids

As I was going through pictures to make sure I was catching up on everything, I noticed a whole bunch of sleeping kids pictures. I love sleeping kids...so quiet and peaceful! I decided I would just throw them all in one post!

Sleeping pics from the past few months

Jax rarely naps in the afternoon but when he does there is no way to wake him up!

Normal around here.....

Seriously? A foot in your face and you can still sleep? Nice. Needless to say, Jade is a deep sleeper and Jax is a crazy sleeper. This was just a few days ago.

There aren't any pics of Jade because she never naps and let's be honest- 95% of the time she goes to bed....in my bed...when I do. I would say about 75% of the time Jax starts in his bed and ends up in mine. Everyone always says that kids won't sleep with you forever....I may be starting to question that! ;)

24th of July

It's crazy the 24th was only a month ago....feels like it was so long ago! Anyway, we had a great day.
Jade and I went in the morning and got her hair cut and then went and did some school shopping. I refuse to do much school shopping because she already has lots of summer clothes and that is all she is going to wear until fall. So, I told her I would let her buy a couple shirts and a new pair of shoes. After we went shopping we went home to grab Scott, Jax and Hads and headed over to Megan's. This was the first year in my entire life that we didn't have a BBQ/Party with my Dad's side of the family. It was a little weird but my sister was nice enough to throw a party/bbq at her house (Yes, we tend to do all the parties at Megan's. Good thing she has a great house, yard and doesn't mind having loads of people over). We all pitched in and she rented this big water slide. The kids were in heaven and spent HOURS playing on the slide! It was awesome! Scott took Hads home to nap and the kids continued playing. We left and headed straight over to my uncles house for another BBQ. I was able to see my aunt Miriam who was in town from Washington. After the party the kids were begging to go back over to Megan's and being that it was our last day of Summer before Jadyn started school, I decided to let them go.
I love days like this: The entire day spent with lots of family relaxing and having a good time!

And....I should mention that I am grateful for the reason we celebrate the 24th of July. I honestly can not imagine what the pioneers went through to get here, in this valley. I am grateful for the sacrifices they made for all of us.

Josh said he wanted to take Hads down the slide. I was a little hesitant but decided to let him try. He walked over to the slide and decided he better try it first himself. Let's just say it is a good thing he did....she would have been seriously injured. That slide was fast and crazy at the bottom!

Cute kiddos after hours on the slide!

Daddy Daughter Camp-out

Our ward did a fun camp-out a few weeks ago for Dads and Daughters. Instead of going up to the mountains to camp they just had a campout at the clubhouse. I thought this was a fantastic idea.Scott and Jade went to dinner first and Scott said he really enjoyed just sitting and talking to Jade while they are. They headed down to the park where they set up tents, played games, did smores and watched a movie on the big screen. The didn't get to sleep until after midnight! The next morning was the part Jade was the most excited about....painting Dad's finger and toenails. Oh man, she was giddy over this one! ;) Scott was a champ and was pretty happy that we were going to the temple later that day so that he had a good excuse to take all of that polish off! It was definitely a fun time had by all and hopefully they can do it again next year!
As for me, I somehow managed to have Brandee take Jax for the night so I ended up with just Hads! My neighbor and I took our babies (who totally matched and we didn't even plan it
!) shopping at Ikea and then to dinner. It was nice to have a night out!

Jadyn's Excellence Award

Jadyn was able to receive her excellence award at the school in April. This was a program at Eastlake where kids get nominated each month by their teachers and they get to go early to school and have juice and donuts and get an award from the principal. If I remember correctly She got her award for always being kind and helpful to other kids. She does so well in school and we are so proud of her!

Wicked!

A year ago I had the chance to buy tickets to Wicked. I have gone once before with my mom and sister and knew I definitely wanted to go again! Our seats sucked, on the last row, but we were still able to see pretty well. Hadley had been pretty sick all week from her throat stuff and was still having fevers of 103 all day so we ended up not going to dinner before hand. We still had a great time. I love musicals and love even more the fact that Jadyn loves them too. Hopefully it's not the last time we see this show!

Group shot....minus Brandee. I hate this picture of me but the picture we took with Brandee is worse, so I had to chose the better of two ugly pics! ;)

Jadyn's BFF Liv happened to have tickets the same night we did which was such a crazy coicidence. They just HAD to have a picture together. These two crack me up! :)

Zoo Trips

Pictures from our zoo trips in April and June. The kids always love going. The new area with the bears opened up in June and we were all excited to go see the polar bear!

I took the picture above withe Jax on the Carousel. Jade got jealous that I was taking pics with Jax so we had to make sure to get some one on one pics with her when we got off. ;) She's funny like that. And...after we took a few pictures she was good to go again!

Platinum pics and party and year end performance

Jade's team had year end pictures and they turned out great. As you can see below, I have quite the poser on my hands! :)

Jade LOVES Meghan! She has been Jade's teacher for 3years!

Jax being goofy at pictures!

Jade's team party of makeovers. Jade was so excited for the chocolate mask and got to go first...which she realized was not a good idea as she had to wait for everyone else before she could take it off and she didn't love having it on! She had a great team and I loved how well all of the girls got along!

Jade also had a great year end performance.I will admit that after 8 performances, all on Saturdays, in about 2.5 months, I was slightly looking forward to this last performance and having a break from performances for a little while! I learned that in the future it is going to be better to invite people to watch her at competitions instead of Synergy performances because they are less crowded and you don't have to stay as long! ;)

This whole competition team thing was definitely a new thing for us this year but Jade loved it. She was on a great team where all of the girls got along and there wasn't any drama. They ended up taking first place at every competition and most importantly they had fun! Our days of dance are definitely far from over!
