Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve Catch up

We have learned over the years that the best thing for us to do on Christmas Eve day is to get out of the house and do something so that the kids are kept bust and not just counting down the minutes! Last year we met Jon at Gardner Village and walked around and we decided that we would do the same thing again this year. The kids had fun walking around (with Jaxon feeding the ducks all his candy) and then we went to lunch afterwards.

Here are the ducks following Jaxon and wanting his Banana runts. It was hilarious as Jax said "Oh no! I don't think I have enough for everyone!"

One of my favorite...and my kids favorite...parts of Christmas is Christmas Eve at my Dad's. I am sure I have said it in years past, but I have always loved Christmas Eve. We spent the first 26 years of my life at my Grandparents Christmas Eve party and I have such great memories from those parties. After my Grandpa passed away my Dad started his own parties and I love that my kids look forward to it just as much I did growing up!
My dad's party consists of: Dinner, Run the Money, Reading the Christmas Story from the Scriptures, and white elephant exchange for the adults and pajamas for the kids. I wasn't sure that Haddie would get the "Run the Money" this year but after letting her watch Jaxon go first, she was very clear on how it worked and was so funny to watch! We had the kids read the Christmas Story this year and I loved hearing it from them instead of the adults. We missed having Jon and Jake's family there but still had a great time! I really do love Christmas Eve with my family!
