Peter Pan

Jadyn's best friend Oliva and Olivia's mom were in the Herriman play Peter Pan! We love liv and Josie so we were excited to go support them and watch the play! My mom came with us too. The play was FANTASTIC. Josie was Peter Pan and did a great job. Olivia was toodles and was so cute! I am so glad we could go. I love going to plays and I love that Jade like to go as much as I do!

July 24th

Started the day with a run again....definitely the best way to start! We decided to head up to the Zoo. Again, just like the 4th, we ended up with great overcast weather! Awesome! We went early and were able to be there without any crowds! Hadley definitely loved seeing the animals.I think she may have liked it even more if all the cages were full of just dogs! :)
We enjoyed just hanging out in the afternoon so much on the 4th that we decided to do it again! We hung out for awhile at home before heading over to my Dad's house for a BBQ. My dad and I decided just the night before to do the BBQ because no one else had planned anything. Thanks Dad!!!

Jade is such a good big sister!

July 4th

Going back....Gotta catch up-even if it seems like a LONG time ago!
We had a great 4th of July! I started it off with the Riverton 10K. I was so happy when I woke up to overcast skies! The race is usually super hot and this year it was AWESOME! I had a great race and was glad Scott and the kids could come down for the finish!
We left the race and headed to Raging Waters. We met my dad and brother and his kids there. Jade and Jax had a great time. Hadley is a different story. She is just so funny with water. She would cry and cry if I made her get in the water! The only place she was remotely happy was at a little splash area that had 4 holes in the ground with water coming out of them. Other than that she would cry if I wasn't holding her. Silly girl. We left around 12:30 and headed home. The awesome part is that we went home and took naps! YAY! We took the kids down to the pool a little bit later and then my Brother and his kids, my mom and dad and my neighbors all came over for pizza and fireworks! Jaxon was sooooo excited about Drew's fireworks! He just wanted to be in on all the action! Luckily, Drew's firework pile didn't disappoint! Such a fun day spent with family and friends

These two girls were loving the tramp!

Last day of SUMMER!

Hallelujah! It's been a long summer around here. We switched from A track to D track which means the kids have been off for 12 weeks. That is a long time. It has made me REALLY appreciate our year round schedule! The very first day of summer break Scott walked in the door from work and I said "We are going to get a tramp. Today. I need these kids to have something to do outside!!!!" He looked at me like I was nuts. We have always said no tramp: small yard, slanted yard, dangerous. But on the first day of summer I cracked-and I was 100% serious. By Friday the tramp was up and everyone was happy. It was a great decision and has provided hours of fun-even in the heat with the sprinkler on. So besides lots of trampoline bouncing there has been lots of swimming, classic skating/waterpark, raging waters (though only twice. That place is WAY too crowded for me), Lagoon, play dates....lots of play dates, airbourne, swimming and more swimming, gas station trips and night walks. The kids have definitely spent their fair share of time in front of the tv and in front of video games but I am happy to say it has been much less than I thought it would be when the summer started. I have also heard my fair share of crying, whining, screaming, fighting and tattling to last a life time! I love my kids and love the casual non-rushed mornings that summer has brought but I am definitely ready for them to start school!
We just got back from a quick trip to Harmon's for some butter and milk. We should have been in and out in 10 min. Jaxon found a car he wanted to buy. I said no but he decided to hold on to it. Just as we were ready to go check out I heard Jade scream. I turned around to see the car (the kind you pull back and the wheels spin so it can go forward) wrapped tightly in her hair!!! Yep, Jaxon pulled it back and let it go in her hair! I spent 20 min in the produce section trying to get it out and gave up and said we would have to go cut it. Lucky for everyone, when I got to customer service and asked for some scissors the nice lady, twyla, offered to try before we actually cut it. She worked on it for about 20 more min and we unscrewed the car bottom and then broke the car but she did finally get it out! I told Scott it was just my last finally reminder that it is definitely time to send the kids back to school! Jax earned himself the night spent in his room and I think he may have actually felt bad about what happened. Maybe! :)
Here is hoping to a great year for both of them!

Classic Waterpark

JL Sorensen rec- Hadley is not a huge fan of water so she spends a lot of time just hanging out by me-which leads to a lot of pictures of her while we swim and hardly any of the other two because they are off actually having fun!

Airbourne: during nap time. Not the best idea I've had

Lagoon. This was after the kids convinced me to ride river rapids 3 times in a row. We were drenched! I have to say that we have loved having Scott have a pass this year. This is the first year where whenever we go to Lagoon we go up in the afternoon from about 5-10. It has been so nice. We always go on weekdays so it's not crowded and it's nice to go at night when it's not so hot! The kids all love going and I enjoy just walking around and watching them have fun!
